While they are hardened protein, they will soften with water. Wet tepid washcloth held over the eye and lots of kind words during the wait. Then if I don't pick them out with a fingernail, a tissue works well. |
It's a constant event with Sprocket,he has the muckiest eyes I have ever know. Vet says it's just how he is. I keep the fur on his bridge of the nose very short,he is very good at letting me get the scissors near the area. Some of his lashes grow into his eyes rather than the direction they should so he is used to it-kind words and knowing a kiss and a treat follows makes the job so much easier as well.As above a warm flannel does the softening job very well. Good luck.x |
I pick Archies eyes everyday, them any build up is kept to a minimum |
I pick off Bloos sleepy every night when its still gooey. He sits there while I pick it off then eats it...if I don't let him lick it off my finger its the end of the world! He will sulk all day |
Oh,that's strange you said Bloo eats his eye gunk-Sprocket does as well.Hadn't known a sheepy to do that!!x |
ewwwww! |
I pick it off everyday too and Tiggy likes to eat it as well. It's just salt water (tears) and a bit of dirt so I don't fight about it. |
just a piece of soft cloth and warm water usually removes it, and a treat afterwards of course! |
