tumours

Hi my 8 year old sheepie has just had a tumour removed from her bottom next to the anus. It was not connected with the anal sac as they first thought but it turned out to be larger then they expected. We are now waiting for lab results to confirm what we are dealing with. Has anyone else had this problem? thanks

Yes, my second OES had a tumor next to her anus removed. It took some doing as the "root" of the tumor ran deep.
It was not malignment.
Hi Humber wait and see what the biopsy, pathology report says.

Even though any lump scares us all, majority turns out to be benign. Fatty limponas or subaceous cysts are not uncommon in our ageing OES.

Let's know what comes about with the lump and fingys crossed all good :crossed:

Hard not to panic, worst part is the waiting to know if it is a goodie or a badie. :sidestep: :|
A dog came into our care a few weeks ago that had this problem. "Opal" was found as a stray by a city shelter we have a great partnership with. We pulled Opal from their facility and were surprised to find the size of the cyst she had. It turned out to just be a cyst that was easily removed and she recovered beautifully. Opal is now in a wonderful new home. :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

Thank for your comments. Patchs results have come back as clear a great relief.
Wonderful news! Sometimes those things get nastier than just their appearances in that area.
Great result :ghug: thanks for letting us all know all is OK

Gee nita what a wonderfull job they did on opal and her big cyst, really neat you would not of known what was there in a growth hanging off that area. She must be so way more comfortable & happy now, especially just sitting down. Love to the rescue who saved her and fixed her problem  :ghug:

Kudos to you all for opal
Great news  My Bowie just had two fatty tumors removed. One in his hind quarters and one on his "shoulder" area. We thought they were just fatty but had to come out as they were growing and as it turns out they were just fatty. :clappurple:

I think as the dogs get older they develop some fatty tumors but it is always wise to see a Vet if you ever find something lumpy or unusual. Glad things worked out well!
