She really has done well though and even won the "leave it" contest at the end of class. I think it might be because she was so distracted by the other dogs she totally forgot about the puparoni inches from her nose.. but a win is a win and I'll take it! lol She wouldn't even wear the little graduation cap for a picture! This is me trying to put it on her head. We start an obedience class next week at a different place as well as puppy agility. I'm curious to see the differences in training techniques. I've learned I need to take her to places with distractions to practice.. everything she does perfectly at home definitely doesn't happen during classtime... |

Ah Leslie! You learned your 1st lesson well! Working with distractions is the key to it all along with consistency. Every one of us in performance will tell you we'd have earned our titles in no time if the judge could have judged us in our own backyards I applaude your efforts as I have 2 puppies here at home that sorely need to get to obedience & I have not had the time to get them there. Hence, they can look as sweet pie 1 minute & act like 2 little wild indians the next! This isn't the 1st time I've asked myself "what was I thinking?" when I kept 2 littermates. |
Well done to you both-Sprocket need more distractions in his daily life-that is oour problem-lucky to see 3 cars let along another dog walker. Plenty of snarly dogs in the roads around their farms. Don't have time to drive away daily to "find" civilisation.x |
Congratulations to you both Have fun at the next level. Puppy agility sounds interesting |

Yikes!!!!! No time for obedience?? Gee, you're only planning a big dog show in a few weeks.. can't imagine why not I hope there is a good sheepdog turnout! |

Gee, you're only planning a big dog show in a few weeks.. can't imagine why not I hope there is a good sheepdog turnout! Times 2? Well yes, sort of. You have to factor in the "twin" aspect. Like human twins, they have a special bond & at times it is actually funny. You can see them support each other in actions & at times I swear you can read it in their eyes "Let's gang up on Mom"! If there had been a 3rd one I'd have called them The 3 Muskateers!....you know.....1 for all & all for 1? And alot of times that doesn't include me! |
Congratulations to you and Fred You think he didn't learn much in these weeks but you are laying a great foundation and continuing on, you will see a big difference in him. Training is repetition, repettiion, repetition..... |
Yay Fred!!! Congrats on your beginnings, keep up the good work...as truly, the sky is the limit with what you can do together. |
