Look what Harry got!!!
We picked him up yesterday at ten weeks old. Amy, the breeder was nice enough to meet us halfway in Pontiac, IL.  His registered name is Lakewood's Good Luck Will Rub Off and we call him Bert. He is named after the chimney sweep character in Mary Poppins. Following is the pictorial of Harry meeting his new "brother" for the first time. Look at Bert's mom Maggie in the third picture, she is thinking (justifiably) "That poor puppy".        In the car, ready to go "home"  And after a long day busy evening of socializing with over twenty family members including a Labrador "cousin" and exploring his new home Bert passes out around 11:00 next to his "big brother" Harry.  Where do I start on this topic? This wasn't even on the map ten days ago. In just a week I have borrowed and bought three crates, an ex pen and set up the house for the little sweetie pie. All while carting Harry off to all his lessons and therapy visits. It has been eighteen years since I had a puppy this young. Harry was six and half months old when we got him. And I have never had two dogs before!!!  While the timing isn't perfect with working on Nationals, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get this puppy. So be patient with me on the picture front - I will try to snap them when I can but posting will come slowly (probably when I am at work) because I will be busy in between my overscheduled older Sheepdog's lessons and visits and working on Nationals trying to socialize and potty train (gulp) my sweet little Bert. Oh, AND teach the over-exuberant Harry to be gentle with the puppy.  I insisted on some "down time" this morning before we have the family over for more social time, thus the post. Finally, the boys seem to be getting along great despite Harry's enthusiasm. Harry is working really hard to be gentle and Bert displays confidence in dealing with the beast. The Cunningham clan is already in love with sweet little Bert.  |

| What a cutie-patootie.....(but I knew he would be)...He looks just like Harry.....the same patch on the same side. I will be patiently waiting for THE text (or call) about visiting hours for Aunts..(Auntie Val AND Auntie Heart) ....I KNOW Heart can't wait to see her Bestest Friends, bestest NEW bro..... I will be bringing a 'special' gift to the soon to be worn out mama and papa... I am green with envy  thinking of all the fun the next year will bring...Harry will be a great teacher...(heaven, help us!!!!)  See you soon little Bert.... |

Finally!!! Welcome little Bert! He is so cute and huggable. And you better get lots of pictures, as this is such a fast growing age....much too fast! I really should have gotten more of Bond, looking back. Great pictures with a bit of Maggie in it too. I have a couple of puppy Chewie with mom Mad Dog and I treasure them. And I did a bit better with Bond, but not much!Enjoy baby Bert! |
