Mady wrote: Maybe she is out celebrating Constitution Day!!! Yes, I need to see the parade every year, actually two parades; The big parade with children down in the city or at the Kings Palace and then a smaller right outside our house in the afternoon. Happy day to everybody! |
I think that it is important to have a day when everyone can celebrate their homeland, especially one as beautiful as yours! |

The day was so important for my parents and everybody who had been through the second world war. We could eat all the icecream we wanted during the day. Greatest day in the year when I was a child. We don't usually have parades, but we do have music, dancing, fireworks and, of course, beer. In 2017 we will be celebrating 150 years of 'nationhood' but of course Canada has been the homeland to many different people for ages before the Europeans came along. July 1, 2017 should be one hell of a party! And grizzly bears are fantastic, from far away... |
Happy Constatution Day. I loved your story about the children's parades and ice cream all day. Your pictures are beautiful. If Kim lived near Windsor, Ontario, Canada, Detroit Michigan and they celebrate on the Detroit River with boat races and all kinds of things going on in both countries since the Detroit River Splits the States from Canada. They have all kinds of parties and fireworks from the July 1-July 4th. |
If I remember that they eat strawberries and cream and the students go on a long party before there exam. They buy buses and go on a massive party |
