My sheepdogs being SHEEPdogs

A few pictures from our first herding training session of the season.

Gracie, the natural:

Mady, the passionate:

Virginia, the easy-rider:

We're not really training Virginia, but focusing on Mady and Gracie. Just because her herding drive is low. She will herd, the instinct is there, but she seems happier to let the young 'uns do it while she watches from the sidelines while receiving lots of cuddles.

oh how i love virginia
Hey, no use running fat off the sheep, slow is better. Good girl Virginia.
:aww: Maybe she has reached the cudle age
They all look like great herders at the pictures!
You take such great action pictures!!
Ginny's a love bug!
Virginia's herding drive is low?? What is with you insulting my girls lately? They are all perfect! Your housework drive is low, but I still keep you around! Keep on dissing my dogs and I will have to reconsider that!

:hearts: :hearts: :hearts:
Great pics!!

And great conversation! :D
Gracie and Mady have youth's enthusiasm, Virginia is wiser. All three are just lovely and have great uprights for allowing them to partake in such activities.

:high5: Love it!

BTW, the dogs are supposed to move the sheep so that the sheep stay at a walk....so Virginia looks to be the most correct ;)

I love your videos. I need to get some of my guys. Chewie has the control, Bond....eh, lets say he's a work in progress ;) To him, sheep are like crack! He's addicted, mindless.... :excited: But we saw more control and less sass Friday at practice, so either he's learning, or growing up, or a little of both!

We are doing our leg 2 of the JHD (Junior Herding Dog) with AHBA (American Herding Breeds Association) next Saturday. I hope I can get someone to video us.

And Wendy just had Nigel out for his 1st session herding yesterday.....yay!
Sheepdogs unite!!
Love the conversation.

Mady moves at the speed of light. I am more partial to Virginia's herding methods.
Yes, sheepdogs unite! Why should the border collies and Aussies have all of the fun? I am loving the versatility of my girls. They can herd, do agility, be therapy dogs, or just walk around town being beautiful and superstars! Plus they keep my feet warm during those cold Canadian winters!
Love those photos!! Thanks for sharing :-)
