The season has begun!

The agility and herding season has begun! Mady had her first agility session last night and she rocked! :D Tonight Gracie and Mady are going to herding, and Thursday Mady is going to a special weaves course. Mady especially is SO happy to be back at it! We're registered for a 3 day herding clinic and trial in July, Mady should get her first title there :crossed: It's gonna be a busy summer! :excited:

Virginia does get to tend the sheep too, she is just more leisurely about it! She and I go on Saturday for our orientation at the local seniors' residence (now that I have finally passed my police check and tuberculosis check!) and we will start weekly visits the week after the Shindig. Virginia is looking forward to getting some snuggles at the Shindig, so I hope that you are ready for her!!
Oh, I'll snuggle her alright.
I'll snuggle her right out of Canada. :)

I said SNUGGLE! Not SMUGGLE!! I should bring her to visit you sometime so that you can get your sheepie fix-you are only 2-3 hours away, practically a neighbour!
Thats awesome! Agility is the best thing ever :-D Good luck
Exciting and busy times, your summer will fly by. Kim, are you working with Gracie at agility also? I know you managed to get David's ok....somehow

Cannot wait to see Mady at the agility demo. Special weaves???...I thought hairstyles immediately  She's such a great girl :hearts:

I'll be loving on Virginia and watching all the action
 Sound like great fun!
Hope to see pictures of your flying carpets. :excited:
Well, I had MY first herding lesson yesterday, working with Gracie. We did very well, if I say so myself. Of course, David says that it is because Gracie is a natural. I do think that I have benefited from being on the sidelines watching and learning, so I wasn't quite the greenhorn David was when he started. Our trainer is a border collie breeder of working dogs and my favourite dog of hers is pregnant..... :sidestep:

As for Mady, she started crying (I can't describe the sound she makes, she ONLY does it when we are approaching this farm) more than a kilometre away from the farm, even though it has been several months since she has been there. She was indescribably happy to be there with her beloved sheep. It sounds so dorky, but honestly my heart could explode from happiness when I see Mady working the sheep. I am a bit worried about how she will handle being at Tee Creek for the Shindig and not being allowed to see the sheep. Plus she spent three days with Kathy Warner, the owner of the farm where we will be for the Shindig party, so she will see Kathy and know that fun is around the corner. Poor girl, I should have signed her up for the instinct test just to let her see her sheep!
