Sherlock, our 5 month old OES is doing awesomely. We feed him Blue Buffalo Grain Free Puppy (dry) food. Usually when we take him out to poop he needs to poop twice. The first poop is always solid and normal. But then a block or so later when he popps again is usually very runny. He isn't in pain or not well or anything. It is just this second poop is always runny. Any ideas? |

Yeah, especially with exercise. You are getting the stuff that hasn't sat around inside, drying out. The muscles are pushing out the "not quite done" stuff. Keep some baby wipes handy along with your poop bags. As long as the first delivery is solid, I wouldn't worry. As he gets older and his body matures you shouldn't have these problems except after extreme exercise. |
Exercise will produce some loose poop. Mine will go solid and then run around outside and poop again...not solid! Your guy is only five months old. Still a baby. he probably gets excited on his walks and makes him go again...If everything else is okay, eating, no vomit, normal behavior, I wouldn't worry. Just carry extra poop bags! |
Monty always had runny poop on his last poop when he was young, he also pooped five times when we took him out. Thankfully it is down to three times and no longer runny. His poos firmed up at about 10 months. We worked out that he could only eat kibble, anything else and he get the runs. Now he can eat almost anything. |
Sprocket is just the same. He is mainly firm poop now but if runs around with another dog on his walk fround the fields he has a splodgy one. He doesn't like a rear end clean up. The tail gets in the way also. Allyson.x |
This is the STORY OF MY LIFE with Ramsey!!!! Changed foods too, didn't really do much, other than that, he's fine. I keep stock of baby wipes, lol. |
this is so true, Summer produces one normal poo when out for a walk. Any excitement someone telling her she is beautiful, meeting another dog, and she goes again this time a bit runnier. They are so funny...you got to love them x |
