At that age, we were going out every two hours and our Caitlyn got the hint real fast. We dropped back to four hours at about 12-14 weeks and by then, she was sleeping through the night anyway. Vance |
Thanks, Vance! I have my dog walker coming every 3 hours (i leave at 9am he comes at 12pm then 3pm or so) so im trying to be as consistent as possible and when im home we go out every 2 hours at least for sure. I guess i have to set an alarm for myself overnight to make sure he is out, he has held it for 5-6 hours before (i fell asleep and he woke me up then barking to go out) but i never try to make him do that. I hope i haven't messed things up but him peeing in the crate a couple times |
Also try bell training him. Hang some bells on the ONE door that you take him out and EVERYTIME you take him out to pee, ring the bells and associate one word, like potty or pee with the bells. He'll begin to realize that the bells are a sign of what he wants/needs. This worked great with Caitlyn to the point Zoey, (two years older) started doing it too! Vance |
