P, I for one have been very busy at work and been working to get Caitlyn ready as we had a b-match yesterday, (we beat the other female Sheepie that showed up for a class win and then got beat by the same owner's male for the breed). This weekend a two day event with four majors show in it! It's a regular all-breed show with the Western Reserve OESC specialty running along with it. Then next weekend we have another two day event that is two majors shows; one each day! So we have six majors in two weekends! Very busy and very exciting for us. And with any spare minute I have had, I've been working on my new guitar design. It's gone through several major changes but still retains some key features; images of the design to come very soon... Things are pretty quiet today. Good luck Vance with the upcoming shows. |
good luck Vance & hope you do well. Looks like most people are busy |
Good luck in the shows!! And yes, we want to see the guitar design..when you are ready. Today the wind blew (duh, its spring!) and the sky was filled with elm seeds. Looked like snow. Tonight seeds are piled up in small drifts. Must get those raked or vacuumed up carefully. Often we get moisture right after and every one of the cursed things will germinate! Looks dry for awhile (again, duh!). Must be careful to get them up carefully and not bury them. Pox on whoever introduced the species to this area........actually I know, but that's besides the point. 80 years later, what a mess. Still moving towards Eastern Christian Easter so evening Lenten service which was helpful when dealing with news out of Boston today. |
Elm seed ?. I though having trees would be good but not near the house |
Erm get some Dutch Elm disease you won't be pestered by it then! |
Well, I'm here. As you all know, my first love is horses, and the horse board I was a member of for over 10 years was suddenly shut down over the weekend. When I say shut down, I mean it was up Saturday morning and closed Saturday night with no notice. I spent a few days in mourning. Plus I went to a Pampered Chef party at Debcram's Sunday so was not around. I swear if Ron ever closes this board I will hunt him down! |
Me - I just worked 12 hour shifts over the weekend. Plus they are short a nurse, so getting scheduled OT and still trying to keep up with my crazy schedule. |
I am crazy busy at work and have been doing some overtime, so the forum is second fiddle to dog walking and grooming and playing and generally giving Tiggy the attention she knows she deserves. |
Paula O. wrote: I swear if Ron ever closes this board I will hunt him down! Hey -- I didn't even shut down the board on April 1st this year! I've been super busy and aggravated and tired. Joan was traveling and got sick when she returned then fell off a stepstool and twisted her foot and got a walking foot boot and then developed a bad cough and some sort of post viral bronchitis and then got tangled up with the dog's leash and the foot boot thingy and had a bad fall hurting her back which triggered some medical crises and we wound up in the Emergency Department 3 times and admitted twice between a Monday and that Friday. She's almost back to normal but not quite. Then the whole marathon thing and the government's siege of Watertown which is really close to where we lived in 1986... I need a nap! Joan needs some better luck! Mulligan needs his mommy's touch. |
Sorry......so much happens right now, I am behind schedule. Horrible and too cruel what happend at Marathon in Boston. Almost couldn't believe what I saw on TV. Then from hell to heaven in one week: We had two great concerts in our churches this weekend: We did Haydns Die Schöpfung, The Creation; two choirs, a complete symphony orchestra and excellent soloists. I have a lot of "Joy-pics" from easter, the winther and all back to the summer last year - hope for some rainy days. |
Geez Ron, Hope Joan is getting out from under that black cloud!! Sounds like you both need a nap...or vacation! |
Thanks. It's been about 6 or 7 weeks now since getting back from the trip. The ER week was three weeks ago I think. It's been very difficult for her, we couldn't get her blood pressure stabilized and her steroids under control and with Joan's incredibly uncommon diseases several of the ER doctors pretend like they know what they're talking about and they really don't -- and they don't fking listen to people who have been managing this stuff daily and during crisis for 16 years AND refuse to make a phone call to their "ON CALL" endocrinologists. So it takes hours to get basic supportive care, and in the meantime Joan is suffering and vomiting and at risk for collapsing. |
oh Ron poor you and Joan hope she gets sorted soon xx. I look in but nothing much to report, knees are hurting me, had x rays results today, in the meantime my hand keeps waking me up at 5 with terrific pins and needles. Hubby is as well as he will ever be, it is nice to see a bit of sun though xx |
Xrays okay for obvious breaks and bits of metal and little else, and even MRI scan failed to show the sushi roll of cartilage between my kneecap and knee (amazingly obvious when they operated even the surgeon commented - how did we miss that) . I just had Xrays results for my neck and shoulders as I have quite a bit of back pain, but they show wear and tear erm is that normal good or bad? Daft receptionist seemed hopeless as to whether I should see the doctor again? Mustn't grumble though my old mum has had a broken pelvis and vertebrae since Nov and it isn't knitting back together she fought cancer two years back and they reckon the chemotherapy and radiation therapy have caused osteoporosis. She didn't have a fall by the way. Hey ho! I can always take comfort in that big black nose looking up at me from his resting place between my knees, and a soulful look from these lovely animals is a great tonic. |

I Wonder what's wrong about these kind of doctors......seems to me they are all over the world. Hope you manage to find someone better who can help Joan soon. |
