This is the picture of my gown for my son's wedding. Unfortunately that is not me............. but I am sure that the minute I put the gown on I'll look just like that!!!  |

But I gotta tell you I'm nervous as a cat............ I am definately NOT a dress up person. I can't remember the last time I had anything other than sneakers on my feet (or flip flops ) and I don't own a pair of stockings (yet) and to me make up is chapstick and lotion.
My seamstress (who is altering my dress) tells me I need special "undergarments" EEEEEEEEEEEEEK, you mean I can't wear a sports bra??????????????????? I'm 50 yrs old and this is my first "gown" (I didn't do all that silly stuff in high school, I was riding horses and being a tom boy). I didn't even have a wedding gown when I got married, I had a "wedding suit". The reception is at the Fairmont Hotel in Washington DC and I JUST KNOW they are going to take one look at me and send me to the maids entrance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
| Okay, that dress is GORGEOUS, why can't my SIL pick that for her bridesmaids. It's classic, sophisticated...perfect for both these ladies.

I think the biggest thing my mother-in-law worried about is showing up in the same color dress and design as my mom. I guess my MIL had it happen before and she thought it looked weird in pictures. ha. Here are pictures of just ME: I'm just excited to have all my pictures in now. Can't wait to build a homepage for it. This weekend we go on our honeymoon though, so it'll have to wait.

Jo, those are very good pictures of you, that dress looks awesome. Scrap booking them will be so hard but fun at the same time. Myself not a scrapbooker but wish I did. Some day perhaps I will re-organize my photos. Wish I had a picture to share, my bridesmaid wore a pale yellow dress, straight through the front (plain), straps, and then this big cut-out of a daisie on the back, with a rhinestone circle holding the center, high-ish slit on the side. Then they carried these HUGE boquets of Daisy's. The guys were all in suits with Tails. My boquet was big too, with a lily, yellow roses, daisies, and greens...very pretty. I do wish it was bigger and maybe a little less formal. Yellow roses are my fav flower, and Daisy's... |
| Tasker's Mom - the dress is absolutely beautiful and you will look gorgeous! Mother of the bride or groom is the next thing I'm looking forward to as well - but hopefully not for a few years yet!!
Jo - your dress was beautiful, as were all the other wedding pictures you posted. And have a great time on your "honeymoon" this week-end! Barney1 - I just love the bridesmaid dresses! So elegant, but still something they could wear again to a formal occasion, or maybe a New Year's Eve Party. Well done!! I couldn't possibly post pictures of my wedding - it was almost 30 years ago!! Of course, I haven't changed any, but everyone else has!

We did JOP since hubby was being deployed so no wedding pics to share. He left a week after we got married, and he didn't get back until we had been married for 7 months...lol I figured by then, it was a little too late for a "real" wedding. |
