My Kirby's nose
 Hello Everyone, ... I need some advice. I have spent some time today looking and looking at pictures of Sheepdogs on Facebook and other places. The reason is my Sheepdog, Kirby has a place on his nose which really worries me. I intend on taking him to the vet, but wanted to get your feedback before. I will admit, he has had this for some time. I also have an English Bulldog. I'm not sure, but she may have bitten Kirby on the nose, taking a small chunk when she did it. This is when he was younger. I was told by the vet, at that time, that the skin would possibly grow back. It did not. Kirby now has a couple more places on his nose, same coloration. When I feel them, they seem to me to have a "piece" missing, especially the very first spot, which is almost dime size. I feel so bad because "the big black nose" is one of their trademarks and what makes them who they are. Please, if anyone has some ideas, please let me know. | yeah, a picture would help! Jack splayed open his nose........somehow. Right down the middle....yuck. Took to vet, she pinched and manipulated and finally said, "I can't get enough to get it back together. Take home and wash it 2-3 times a day, plain water".......we all are on wells. Said the natural water, no chemicals was good enough. No antiobiotics necessary topically (pills were prescribed) as long as he wasn't a nose digger. It grew back......always had a divot down the middle but was just part of his charm. If the wound is closed, dry, probably not much that can be done. It's part of life. |
| Is there a wound or is it just that the black didn't come through yet? It could take a while for their pink nose to become the big black nose. If its a wound, and I didn't see it, try some bactracin...Without pictures its hard to advice. |
