It's 15.99 on overstock AND they always have 1-2 dollar shipping!

Ok, that appears to be true.
Some things to consider: 1) I hate the thought of oes.org members paying too much for something. 2) Oversotck.com is charging $1.40 for shipping, making them 60 cents cheaper than Amazon.com. 3) Overstock will charge your credit card immediately, while Amazon will charge you when the item is shipped. 4) Amazon has a track record of delivering millions of Harry Potter books on time on release day, I don't know abbout Overstock's track record or ability to ship. 5) oes.org doesn't get a commision from Overstock, and even if I signed up with Overstock (which I might someday,) the commission is less than half of what Amazon.com pays. 6)I wasn't aware that there was a better deal out there, and everyone is certainly entitled to do what is best for themselves. |
Ahh.. my bad!
I missed the part where oes.org gets a commission if it's through amazon.com. I was glad to hear about the HP update! I thought you were just excited about the book, as I am, and just wanted to make sure everyone had their copy as soon as possible. |
That is great Ron, I'll definitely preorder our copy. Last time I didn't preorder and thought it would be fun to head out to the bookstore for the big Harry Potter party and get our book at the same time. My three kids and I ended up staying at the bookstore until 3 am and finally purchased the book, my kids actually had a great time, we were provided free coffee drinks while we waited, and you've never seen such wired up kids!! I'm not up for a repeat of that again

Now I feel guilty for depriving you of that fun time!!!
Maybe you could hang around for the party for a little bit, like til just after midnight, then go home, get a good night's sleep , and wake up to the package on the front door! (OK, UPS might not deliver to a house till late afternoon....) |
I like the idea of getting a good night's sleep, what's really twisted is my oldest daughter actually started to read the book when we got home! That was one of the longest nights of my life! |
Ron, is there a location on the Forum where there are links to all of the vendors that provide commission? I can never remember how to link to OES when I order a book from Amazon.
Thanks! Sue |
We preordered since the first day to help oes.org.
Anybody knows where can I send Danita for a few days so I can steal her book? |

Thanks! Sue No, THANK YOU, Sue! There's this location: http://forum.oes.org/viewtopic.php?p=26847 Please read the story! It's profitable to both of us! You could download the Alexa Toolbar (located at the bottom of the front page for www.oes.org ) that has a button on it to go to Amazon.com, that will credit oes.org with anything you buy, at the "base rate" (See the story in that other link). Otherwise, you can just click on any amazon.com link that I've posted in the forum, like this one: This is Not a Joke Doormat and oes.org will also be credited at the base rate (unless you buy the doormat! That would be base rate + 50% ! (read that other story!)) I know it sounds a little complicated, but I really really do appreciate the consideration... in the last 6 months, Amazon commissions have been about $80 -- that's a big help towards the costs of running OES. Thanks! |
The shipping details have been updated in the Original Post. |
I want to preorder it, but I have no clue where I'll be! My hubby leaves for Guam on the 20th, and the boys & I are supposed to stay over ILs house. They're on vacation right now, so I can't call them (cruise). I don't know if it'll be okay to bring the kitten with us, boarding isn't an option, so we may be home. I'd hate to order it and have it shipped here only to have it sit 3 weeks...or send it to ILs, where I might never see it! lol |
Ron: Master of the Universe.......please make a Sticky for the odering info that give OES.org a few sheckles ordering thru Amazon. I'm actually starting to think about holiday gifts.......groan.
