Crate set up

Who just put together a 48" dog crate including floor grid and divider all by herself?

:yay: This girl!!!! :yay:

Ok so there are those of you on this forum who could probably do that in your sleep.. but it was my first crate assembly ever! (was thinking I should have started with a toy poodle, not an OES at several points)

I've been getting some of the big purchase items each payday so I won't have such huge expenses when I get my puppy in 6 weeks or so... plus that way I can be in denial about how much I'm actually spending on puppy stuff,

Way to go, I got frustrated with ours before I read the directions and figured out it was a basic pull up snap together concept. Since then I can take it places and set it up easily. Somebody recently pointed out there is even a handle for carrying when flat. Had the kennel for over a year and wrestled it from point A to point B instead of carrying it by the handle. Oops.

Good call buying things in advance. I started stocking up on puppy toys before my husband had even agreed to a sheepdog... Call it persuasion by clutter.

6 weeks? That's so exciting! I know I had a list of things to do, books to read and stuff to buy. Helped was the time while I was waiting for Leonard! I am sure your puppy will be worth the wait :)
Congrats!

It IS difficult to assemble the first time, and then, each time I collapsed it, I had to struggle with returning it to crate form 8O 8O The worst part is the divider IMHO, all the little attachments are a pain to secure.

Sooo smart to have everything ready to go, and all you will have to do is play, play, play, and try to sleep, sleep, sleep...

Very excited for the new member of your household :yay: :yay: :excited: :excited:   :cheer: :cheer:
Congrats on the (upcoming) new pup!

Our pup should be born in about 2 weeks, and I'm doing the same thing. I've been buying stuff for about a month now. The crate(s) are next on my list.

Can't wait to see pics of you new little one! :)
That crate story made me laugh, remembering a friend's crate issue.
She was new to showing, and was just getting to the show grounds - an outdoor show. She found us, then went back to her car to start hauling her stuff to our grooming area. It was taking forever, so we went looking for her....and see her coming across the lawn, with the full sized OES wire crate all assembled, trying to CARRY it that way, all by herself!! She never thought to collapse it and use the carry handle :D
We still joke about that day, and how far she's come!!

I like the buying items bit by bit...not so shocking!
It is pretty slick how it all opens up.. just SO HUGE to try and hold it up myself and get latched.. the floor grid was the worst part, couldn't reach both sides at the same time... I'm only 5' and I needed about 3 inches more arm reach, the cats were no help at all, lol
