Diane Buckland Celebrates Her 80th, 17 Mar 13
All are invited to join me in wishing her a happy and healthy day on this life's milestone by sharing best wishes, photographs or memories. For just over 50 years Diane was one of the premier Bobtail breeders in Canada and in large part fostered the breed through what in many ways were it's formative years leading to wider public recognition and acceptance of the breed than was it's almost exclusive status and very small population in the first half of the 20th century. Diane's list of breeding and judging achievements are long and varied and her contributions to the breed clubs in Canada are without equal. Diane's Tarawood line remains a core component of many fine Bobtail lines throughout the world, particularly strong in Canada, Australia and New Zealand and survives directly in a last few older dogs of her own breeding . Since leaving active breeding Diane has remained a tireless advocate of our breed, provided invaluable assistance, support and guidance to OESOCC, built a Canadian Bobtail pedigree database and is just completing work on her second book. . All the best Diane and may you reflect happily on an accomplished career and a well rounded life well lived and much appreciated by the many you have touched and to whose families you have helped bring exuberant joy.
