bob fancy name (show name) isnt that fancy we called him rusty dreams because my hubby loves old vw beetles and campers ,and is always saying when we save up he wants a split screen van a bit of a dream |
I wouldn't worry too much about it (unless you are breeding or showing). I can't even remember WHAT Tasker's "fancy" name is!!!!!!! His papers are SOMEWHERE in the file cabinet but for the life of me I can't remember where (I think that is a sign of old age). |
Hi, Dougals kennel name is sweet willow. not that we ever use it . The place were we fetched him from was called willow house, Ialso love willow trees. luv pepe |
Panda started out just as Panda because she was black and white (obviously ) but she also used to wrap her two front paws around your arm and not let go.....just like a Panda bear...Her fancy name came after a month or so in the house, when she started creating PANDEMONIUM!!
It fit perfect and just like a little kid, when I say her full name, she knows that she is in trouble!! |
That's really cute!!!! |
Peanut's AKC name is Chesea's Toys, Lissy's Little Peanut.
Lissy is my nickname : ) I named him Peanut, so I just decided Lissy's Little Peanut would be cute since he was my little guy... I know...not much thought but into it...lol Elissa |
Iris' registered name is:
Snowphire's Templeflower. It breaks down like this: Snowphire- Cattery's name, Temple- She is a Birman, and they are known as the Sacred Cats of Burma, Flower- refers to her call name of Iris Then I started a trend! Bell's reigstered name is: Lylati's Temple Bell. Again, the cattery name- Temple keeps it in the family, and Bell of course refers to her call name. I'll probably do the same when our OES comes home. Either keep the "Temple" part, or something similar such as "sacred" So for instance(erhem- using a totally made up kennel name everyone), If we had a puppy girl named "Pearl" it could be: Shinglebark's Temple Jewel A puppy boy named Nimbus could be: Shinglebark's Sacred Sky Voila! Since Jasper is a type of semi precious stone- maybe you could use that as an idea in his registered name... something like: Shinglebark's Stone's Throw, or Shinglebark's Sunny Stone. Thats my two sense Karen |
wWw Karen! That is really creative!
Our cat's name is plain old Lenny, Leonard when he's bad, Lenny the Lacerator when he's destructive, and Lenny the Lover when he being loving! BTW, we named him from a Simpson's character. When we got our next kitten, Kirby, we named her after the teacher on the Simpson (yes, pathetic) Mrs. Kirbopple, Kirby for short. When the opportunity to get Barney arose, since he was already named Barney (a Simpsons character) we felt it was fate and we had to rescue him! |
I love your ideas Karen.... I think I have explained my two before, but here goes anyway...
I wanted to have all english translated native north american names. It is a theme I plan to keep somewhat. Dancer is Tasia Hills Dancing Light and Sky is Tasia Hills Evening Sky. When Dancer has pups I plan to keep a girl and name her Lakesong Caoimhe Dancer (Caoimhe is pronounced Kiva), and when Sky has pups I will keep a female and name her Lakesong Stormy Skies. |
makes me feel rather unimaginative |
Taskers mom....do you remember why you named them Tasker or Ty? See, your sleep deprevation is catching up with you!! I can at least openly admit that I have too much time on my hands to sit and ponder silly names for my dog...Pooh, Pooh bear, Panda Pooh, Love, Sniffy, Panda love, etc............... |
Yes indeed, I do remember that much!!! Tasker was named by my kids after Steve Tasker the Buffalo Bills player and Doug named Ty after Buster Browns Dog Tigh (I changed the spelling)
HAHAHAH seeee I told you I don't have any imagination I didn't even name the poor babies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But all is not lost, I did come up with names for my skin kids Sleep? what's sleep I heard a rumor that it is what SOME people do at night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
skin kids.... |
Bogart's registered name is:
Cranberry Hill Barrister Bogart My husband was hoping to name him after the BBC character Rumpole (the British barrister). I favored the name Bogart ,so we made him a Barrister! |
We have:
Windfield Bell Bottom Blues Windfield Amadeus Windfield Hugs and Kisses Windfield Daydream Believer I can explain their call names but have no clue about the AKC ones |

Here is the story -- http://forum.oes.org/viewtopic.php?p=22047 I wish I could convince her to join the forum... I did mention it ... |
How's this for creative...........
First male OES: Sampson The Imperial Wizard 2nd male OES: Sampson The Imperial Wizard #2 I wasn't trying to replace the first one, just couldn't come up with a name. DUH.........It was hard to get his attention without calling him something so I told my husband, "I give up, his name is Sampson." My next male was Kali's Fantastic Cody Kahuna Kali: is my husbands Hawaain name "Fan"tastic: came from the fact that he loved and hogged the fans in the house, and would stick his face as close as he could to the airconditioner in the car. Cody: was just cute Kahuna: well, I guess you know what that means. And, my old girl, Shadow: Dawn's Shadow in the Morning |
Ron wrote: I wish I could convince her to join the forum... I did mention it ... I agree! The next time we see Kathleen and Graham (Bogart's brother), I'll be sure to mention it too... |
Both are their father's names: Barney is Herr Bernard von Leopold, Maggie is Dame Margaret Reginald. |
Thanks everyone! After today, we're thinking Chaotic Storm! lol I doubt that'll be his name though. |
