Trainers have told me since he was a puppy that he has a hearing problem. It doesn't really matter, but I would like to know. I'll update everyone tomorrow. Lisa Frankie and Mattie |

Good for you! Now, and apologies if you've heard this before, back oh maybe 15 years ago i transported an almost all white (tiny gray spot on his butt was all), blue eyed, 10 mos old puppy for NYS OES rescue. He was given up because he was deaf and his owners had no idea how to train a deaf dog. No problem. I spent a few hours in the car with him, and though he did indeed appear to be deaf, something made me suspicious. Madeline listened to me and got him BAER tested. Upshot? His hearing was perfect. He just didn't give a fig Certainly there is a problem with deafnesss in the breed, but you're doing the right thing by having him BAER tested - it's the only way to distinguish between selective and congenital deafness <vbg>. Hope it is just selective.......but either way I know he is loved and safe. |
Good luck Frankie, hope all goes well tomorrow |
I don't think he is completely deaf. Yes it might be selective hearing. But a few different things, if you look at him and whistle, he goes the other way to find the sound. Things like that. I'm just curious I do agree. I don't think he gives a darn most of the time. You are right though. He is loved forever no matter what. Lisa Frankie and Mattie |
Good luck Frankie! |
Quote: if you look at him and whistle Sounds like my dh. yes, one ear is compromised. Oh well........... |
