i think we have too many cooking competitions. Instructional shows I like- what I can't stand are these unrealistic competition shows, with ridiculous ingredients and deadlines and conflicts. |
I have started watching many of them - esp the instructional ones. Todd watches them too -I think everyone knows he outcooks me, right?? |
Every time I flick over I see another & another and that Man vs Food. Why is he not dead yet |
I've backed away from Food Network because of the competitions. Hate them! Worst Cooks is Worst show, Chopped should be. Really the only shows I "must watch" are Cooks Country and America's Test Kitchen. As a benefit, last night I was exhausted when I got home, took a shower and went to bed......3 p.m. Dinner rolls around and I'm not getting up to cook. Told DH about the pork chops I had planned and told him to cook them. All that Cooks Country has rubbed off on him, be actually breaded them! and cooked them to perfection So he's not always sleeping in front of the TV. the other day I ran across an original Julia Child show....back from 1962. What fun! |
I LOVE cooking and cooking shows but yes yes yes ...and too many singing competitions |
and here Mrs J I thought you like the reality programs Yes, too many of the competitive shows be they singing, dancing, survival, cooking. People forget how to write stories with plots? No wonder I'm reading more and more... |
My husband is shocked on my tv interests nowadays. I used to ONLY watch reality tv. ...didn't get the big deal with people complaining about them. I enjoyed them!!! After watching the series LOST... I got addicted to story lines and wanting to really feel like I was part of a show and its journey. So I still watch a few reality shows but they're not my favorite ...now it's my husband who likes them, so I just get stuck. I'm fine with the cooking, singing, etc shows... I just don't understand why the same show under a different network, under a different title ...with one minor difference ...is necessary!!! |
I do like Survivor, American Idol and Hell's Kitchen but that's about it for me as far as reality shows go... I miss Lost (just finished re watching all six seasons, again lol) I think that was a once in a lifetime kind of show. My current favourite shows are Grey's Anatomy (has been since day one), Scandal, Vampire Diaries, The Big Bang Theory, Heartland, a few others I like but don't care much if I miss an episode or two... |
