My major obstacle right now is this: Thelma pees whenever she gets excited (for example, when I come home from work, when my kids wake up and come to visit her, when she meets new people, when she gets fed, or when she gets to go for a walk). Often, it is only a few drops, but annoying nonetheless. I hope/expect that my pup is not the first to have this problem? Also, I hope/expect that this issue may recede with maturation? Any ideas for me, to help me solve my problem? Thanks so much. I look forward to any advice. |

Oh no she isn't! Submissive peeing. She may low self esteem and anxity problems. Start with less exciting greetings. Come home and be calm, no happy voices. Take her outside immediately then you can praise the job done with happy voices. Do all you can to support her esteem, praise, love, etc. In time when she matures and becomes more confident, it will stop. Of course it could also be a UTI....best have a vet check first.....pee sample. Do a search on this site for submissive peeing........you'll see it's been a problem for many. Search tab is on the home page. |
