how old was your puppy when you brought him/her home?

He was born Dec. 4th...he was flown here on Jan. 29th so... exactly 8 weeks old.  |
Beau, Luke and Daisy were 8 weeks, Rosco was 3 months(he was our suprise puppy  ) |

| Hendrix was 10 weeks when we got him. He was born January 18th and picked up on March 26th. |

| Tasker was only 6 weeks old, he arrived on Christmas Eve 1995 (unintentionally). I bought him from a women who had never bred a dog before (I didn't know anything about buying a puppy). We picked him out when he was 3 weeks old, the lady lived several hours away. He was from a litter of 10 puppies. When I walked into this ladies house I couldn't believe it, it was one of those SPOTLESS, eat off the floor type houses with white carpets upstairs and peptobismol pink carpets in the family room. She had mom and the puppies barricaded in a small downstairs hallway lined with cardboard boxes.
At the time I wondered how she was going to manage to keep her rug pink with 10 puppies but she sounded like she knew what she was doing and went on and on about how the puppies had to stay with their mother for at least 10 weeks and that she would not send a puppy home over the holidays etc etc etc. We said fine (I wasn't wanting to deal with a puppy over the holidays anyway) Well imagine my surprise when Christmas eve morning we got a phone call from her saying we HAD to pick the puppy up THAT day!!!! Apparently Mrs Clean was about to have a meltdown over having 10 puppies in her house (I guess she forgot that they don't stay little). So we made the drive and brought him home at 6 weeks and it's been LOVE ever since |
I brought Beau home when he was 8 weeks old. He was born 11/22/05. We're going to Petco this morning and have the beard underneath his chin shaved. I think Jimmy Hoffa is in there.  |
| Barney was 1 day short of 8 wks. I wanted to wait longer, but had to coordinate his arrival to a time that I could take a few days off to start him on potty training. That was one of the best investments of time I've made; it got him off to a good start, and in 4 weeks he was housebroken. |

| So what's the standard for these puppies ...as far as week to come home?
I know for maltese's it's 12 wks, and on the average 8 wks for most other breeds. |
| 8 weeks is ideal.... timing doesn't always work out that way though, for example, my breeder is out of town, and my husband and I both work full time so it was easiest to pick up our pups on a weekend, so they fell a couple of days short of the 8 week mark. |
| I reccommended to people picking up Remy's puppies to come on a weekend, but it was gonna be after they turned 8 weeks, so most of the litter went at 9 weeks...just the way it worked out and I think it was easier on everyone. |
We got Clyde at just under 12 weeks. He was born on September 11.  |

| GG was born on October 11 and he flew in on an airplane on December 11! Exactly 8 weeks old! *sigh* that was a happy day!
