if you don't mind considering a Canadian breeder, suggest you contact Val Bandas (contact info at OESCA breeder referral http://www.oldenglishsheepdogclubofamer ... eat_plains - she's listed in the Great Plains region) She just announced the arrival of a rather large litter born just hours ago, so perhaps they aren't all spoken for already. I've met the sire and he's a doll. There are breeders closer to you if you prefer: you can use the directory to contact them. Just don't know if anyone has any litters planned. You have to ask. Good luck! Kristine |
Thank you for the info...do you know if there is any history of auto-immune disorders/other with her pups? Only reason I ask is that I thought I had names of repuatble & failry nearby breeders, only to learn "via the grapevine" that these breeder's pups had serious issues.... I know nuttin/no one/no dog is pawfect (cept for most sheepeis).... |
Hon - if it's an old english sheepdog, there is autoimmune risk. It's a small gene pool, and autoimmune issues, including certain cancers, are featured pretty prominently in our breed, unfortunately. Mind you, it's a legitimate question, and one you definitely should ask any breeder you may seriously be considering getting a puppy from. Kristine |
I just got a message yesterday that Val Bandas in Saskatchewan has puppies. Her email address is peachranch@yahoo.ca Please let me know if this works out for you. I would love one of her puppies but I am committed to one from Tasiahills already. |
