Here is their kennel. The info should be on their site. http://www.sunrise-woodmenpetcare.com/ |
Bugaboo is the kennel name of the Johnson's from CO. Dogs with the prefix Bugaboo would be from their kennel or of their breeding. Kennel names are rather like a brand name that ID's people's dogs. My parents raised Brittanies, and had the kennel name Nor-Star...so people who saw that or read about the wins, etc, knew it was a dog from our kennel. |
Sorry, don't remember very early Bugaboos. I first me Doug........maybe 15 years ago and later the others. Super nice people, but then I've never competed against them |

Super nice people, but then I've never competed against them I have, and in my experience they are the first people to congratulate you if you happen to beat them, and the first people to step up and help a newbie or, say, a Sunny, who needed a single point to finish a very high energy bitch she was showing, but couldn't get the bitch to put more than the occasional foot on the ground on the go around Colton took pity on her and exercised the bitch for her until bitch had a bit of a brain and Sunny went on to finish her. May help explain why it was so easy for us to cheer for them earlier this week Kristine |
I remember local show here the family was in full force with sheepdog (who was that male??), beardies and I think Bouvs. All were clustered about the grooming tables madly getting every hair in place while fielding questions from onlookers. I just watched, no questiones, see what grooming tools they were using and techniques. Suddenly a fam member uttered, "Argh, this is a beardie, not a sheepdog, hair down, hair down." I remember a friend dropped by their kennels with her sheepdog, bitch was fairly well groomed. Doug took the girl, "Mind if I borrow her while you look around?" Later here comes this lovely groomed and trimmed dog she did not recognize. It was her own dog. In the space of "short time" this bitch went from mat free but nothing special to a real beauty. Not show poof of course, but shaped and fluffed. |

I think one of the prettiest pictures I have of Mariah is when Doug stepped up & got her ready for this win picutre back in 2008 at the regional specialty held during the week of the national. He didn't have to do it. She doesn't have an ounce of Bugaboo in her. Another reason to agree with Kristine on why we felt good about cheering them on earlier this week. |

Hi Kristine I remember promising to send you all his particulars some time ago. I never forgot but dreaded digging in my file cabinet that contains all the gazillion pets I fostered or adopted over the years. The cats alone number aprox 300. not to be mistaken with my medical file which is meticulous..:O) I'm going to PM you his kennel info and promise that next weekend I am going to find his AKC papers as I remember you have an interest in a data base on OES if I remember correctly? Marianne |
I remember a few years ago when "Smoke" from the Bugaboo Kennels won Westminister |
There's also a Bugaboo kennel in Finland but don't think that it's related to the North American line? |
