Passed Level 2 obedience!

After 2 hours of hard work tonight he looked a little scruffy and tuckered out.

Leonard passed level 2 obedience, not only that but we walked the whole way there (45 minutes) without a break in leash manners and a few sit stays around busy streets, people and other dogs that passed by (at one point we passed somebody walking their 2 large dogs off leash... One of the dogs started barking and ran at Leonard, he kept walking and didn't freak out even as the other dog was sniffing his but and jumping on him).

Taking level 2 was challenging for me, fun for Leonard and a pretty rewarding experience overall! I have never taught a dog perfect leash manners and solid stays successfully and now both my dogs have these skills down! It just took a ton of repetition and patience.

I am celebrating with a large glass of wine while Leonard is celebrating by running around the house squeaking his toy and chasing the cat.

That's awesome... Looks like he is so proud in that shot! How old is he, when did you start with obedience training?

Yeah!!!!!
He is almost 9 month old now. We started obedience training at home from the first day he got here (8weeks) then formal puppy socialization classes at 4 months and obedience level one at 5 months and I think he was 7.5 month when we started level 2. We will likely do level three in the spring. He seems to thrive on training and working- favourite game is running around the house after me following commands like sit, wait, stay, up, down, twirl, take/leave it and roll over. I try to play this game a few times a week because both dogs love it.

Yay :D well done!!!
Yayyyyyyyyy! Congrats!
Great job :clappurple: :clappurple: :clappurple:
He looks really cute, good work on the on leash walking. Can`t say I can walk Monty for 45 mins without him pulling occassionally and Monty is over a year and a half!!

Sweetest picture. I got a chuckle out of him celebrating by chasing the cat.

Huge claps for you and Leonard, well done.

It is much easier to have him focus after a walk and since class is about an hour after I get home from work walking to class is the only way to get a good walk in. It was only -10 the last couple weeks. We did not walk when it was -35... Although I am sure Leonard wouldn't have minded. The next level runs in spring and summer and I am leaning towards the summer class as walking in the spring muck for 45 minutes and then having to do 'sit settle' is not appealing. We have been continuing to work and train every day. 9 month old wheelies have a short memory!
well done to you both
