I'm newer to the board, but have been a longtime Sheepie owner. Today I went to pick up what I thought was an OES for rescue (the staff at the shelter were "sure" he was too)... http://www.petharbor.com/pet.asp?uaid=WEBR.A140072 I was a little shocked to see that underneath all that fur he was spotted. Untitled by kristinkanenwisher, on Flickr Untitled by kristinkanenwisher, on Flickr Untitled by kristinkanenwisher, on Flickr He is absolutely adorable and FULL of energy. As much as I hated to do it, I left him there since I would not be able to keep him and he'd be harder to place through a rescue. But they've had lots of calls and I'm sure he'll find a good home soon. I'm wondering what you think his cross might be. After a few minutes of internet research I think I know, but what would you say? Cheers, Kris |

Looks like possibly a sheepadoodle, crossed with a parti-poodle. |
Probably a sheepie poodle cross. Man I don't know how you left that handsome fellow in a shelter. I'm a sucker for a handsome face like that and would have taken him. I bet if you would have taken him home he would have calmed down after a day or so. Both sheepies and poodles are energetic. Keeping either in a little cell most likely would cause a lot of pent up energy. My foster was chained up and that boy had some energy to spare. After a couple days of playing and getting into a routine, he had normal sheepie energy. |
Looking at that nose, I'd say poodle too.l |
Even with that big "nose", he'll be a cutie once all this clothing returns. |
I think you guys are right. I found this tonight. If I hadn't seen the full coat picture, you would swear he was full parti-poodle. But his coat is too straight, and his nose a bit too big. I'd consider the mystery solved. |
I have a poodle friend who shows and does all sports with her poodles - even hunt tests! She has some of the non-AKC colors, of which the parti's are one. They are fun dogs. |
Welcome to the forum! Thanks for working rescue for our breed. |
Parti Poodle...so a real Frenchie? Is he flat footed? |
