This morning my husband went to dig our our neighbor who got stuck with her dogs in the car. they were attempting to get to a specialty dog show. Kudos to my husband for getting them out! Now, anyone hear from Ron? They got slammed in Boston too...Ron? Check in to let us know you are okay. Although I think many up there still have no power. |

Glad all is well! |
Diane, Glad to hear you guys are OK. All of you that got slammed, don't forget your roofs. That was a LOT of heavy, wet snow. It may be worth it to hire someone to get the snow off your roof. DO NOT attempt yourself unless you're absolutely sure of the right & safe way to do it. We read too many stories around my hometown about homeowners who attempt to clear their roofs, fall off, and are either permanently injured or even killed. |
Glad that everything is ok!! This is for your husband for helping the people with the dogs, hehehe |
Glad to hear you made it through another storm. |
gosh we moan in the UK when we get our bit but you guys get it so much worse. Glad everyone is ok.... |
I have been thinking of you!! Glad thgere was no flooding!! I have friends in Mass and they cannot open any doors but got a neighbor to help clear tha basement door so they could let their sheepies out They did not loose power but maybe ron did...Ron where are you??? |
So glad all is ok. I have too get in touch with some friends of ours that live in Jersey. Be careful with the heavy snow. Lisa Frankie and Mattie |
When I saw the tidal surge in Mass I breathed a sigh of relief, "wrong coast, wrong wind direction." Glad you are safe. for your husband |
hope that everyone is OK. Watching it on the news in the UK & they are a hardy bunch around the new york area and that includes LI as I have a few mates there |
Thanks for the update, glad that you are okay. I notice that Ron still hasn't checked in |
Another thing to check: If you have a high efficiency furnace, make sure the air inlet and vent pipes are clear of snow & ice. |
No word from Ron yet? |
Ron checked in under "which sleeping position" chat. |
I'm here! My house and all is fine, my dad's power is out and he had to be brought to my brother's house. We all got about 30 inches of snow which is now in the process of beginning to melt, and it's raining. The temps are supposed to be what I think is perfect for getting rid of this stuff; not too warm to cause flooding and not too cold to produce ice dams; days up to 40, nights only down around freezing. There's not full roof coverage in snow but in roof valleys there can be issues if the weather gets and stays cold. I hope I'm right! |
Glad to see you made it thru safely, Ron! We only got about 5", but for me - that's 4" too many! I WANT SPRING!!! |
Smells like Spring here today... 50 degrees. I WANT SNOW. A BIG SNOW. Then- after that, we can talk about Spring... |
My first thoughts when I watched the news was of all our OES friends on the East Coast - I'm glad you are okay. Sending warm thoughts to you all. Marianne |
