Ramsey can jump!

Soooooo, this is a very bad thing he did, although so shocking, I couldn't help but laugh and share, lol. What a clown he is becoming, exactly a sheepie!!! Lolol.

My other half was trying to do some training with him last night. I normally do the training so Ramsey usually knows mom is the boss. Layla and I were in the family room. Mike was standing in the entrance to the kitchen and dining area so he could work with him and he couldn't get past. We have an island/peninsula that opens into the dining area. Ramsey looked at him. Jumped from a standstill up on and over the counter. So effortlessly, so nonchalantly, so quietly, like he does that everyday. Mike was in such shock he couldn't even scold him! I was impressed! Haha.

Maybe he needs some agility training, haha.

"OK, Dad! I found the other way in! That's what you wanted, right?"

Way to go, Ramsey! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
Haha! What a clever boy
Yeah, such an athletic boy needs an outlet....agility would be a nice start. In mean time DH needs some more time putting himself higher in the pack order. More solo walks and feeding Leapin' Ramsey.
Watch out agility world....here comes Ramsey

You laugh, but I intentionally select for dogs who do this kind of naughty with agility in mind ;-) Last night I was foolishing sitting at the island reading a book, eating dinner, minding my own business, when Luna decided to join me. Up she hops. I didn't realize it till this big, black nose tried to push my book out of the way to get to my stew

What can you do? But, oh, yes, definitely agility training. It's not just the physical ability to jump onto the counter, it's how comfortable they are up high as well. I love to see that in a dog. OK, not to the point of involuntarily sharing my dinner, or having to grab the clorox 'cause who knows where her feet have been before they hit the counter :twitch: But, yeah, it tickles me too :-)

Kristine
That is too perfect! We had a similar experience; we had been feeding the cat on my desk since we got Leonard because the desk is high enough to be out of reach of the dogs and Leonard loves smelly cat food. A couple weeks ago I feed the cat and walk out of the room, seconds later that cat runs past me in a huff. Noticing the sudden lack of a certain large hairy shadow I go back into the office to see Leonard on top of the desk, with all 4 paws and a look of triumph. (And a beard full of stinky cat food)
There was no chair for him to climb on so I am guessing he jumped right up there in on leap like a cat; Old English Mountain Goat Dog.
Before kitchens put refrigerators in towers, the best place for cat dish when house had a K9 flyer was atop the refrigerator. Didn't stop all counter crawlers, just made them work harder. Oh how they love cat food!
Hahahaha, sheepies are such problem solvers. :high5:
Hahahaha, I'm glad I'm not the only one!

Funny, I used to take my doodle to agility, she was wonderful at it, but it was a bit expensive, she has balance and is agile like no other, I might look back and see if it is more reasonable around here for both of them!

Haha Kristine, that's funny, share the stew!!!

Susan, HIM walk the dog! Yeahhhh right!! Mom is the feeder, walker, play timer over here! ;) That's why in the morning, when DH randomly is like, O I'LL LET THEM OUT, they move over into his spot next to me for snuggles and almost laugh at him calling them downstairs, lol.
That's awesome!
Ive been working with Max now pretty steady for about 3 months on catching a Frisbee, You would not believe how high he jumps to get it in mid air, and what's really hard to believe is how he see's it in the first place, but so far he hasn't missed one yet.. Its great exercise for him and he loves being able to run at the same time. So that might just be a avenue for Ramsey to.
Im 5 ft 8 inches tall and if I hold the Frisbee over my head in front of me and Max is sitting there he will jump up and grab it from my hand, he's such a athlete that's for sure
If anybody has video of a sheepie jumping from the floor onto a counter, I'd love to see it.
