When did you all notice the adult coat on your dogs!? |
|
It varies from sheepie to sheepie. Lily was completely grey by 5 months |
I had one that didn't even start to change until a year... and another who was totally grey by 6 months...it can vary a lot |
Yeah, he started going gray around 6 months, but he's not fully gray, and he still has some of that black, softer puppy hair along his back legs. Still must be coming through, lol. |
And, too, just to complicate things, they go from puppy to junior coat (initial greys) and then they mature into their adult coat. You'll know when this is happening as they'll start matting overnight (15 mos old starting to go through that right now <sigh>) It can take a while and it can vary a lot between dogs. Kristine |
http://www.oes.org/page2/10404~Coat_Tra ... s_Old.html There all different in there stages, some earlier some later, some not much change at all. After puppy there is the junior coat then anytime after that the adult full coat. Yep you can tell coat transitions are happening the matt fairies are alive and breeding big time |
Thank you!!! I did remember reading about the junior coat so that will securely help me remember!! |
