Lots & lots of snow in CNY this week.
So much snow that Good Morning America will be in town tomorrow morning reporting live. And it's very cold, too. Single digits for highs. So if you're able, check us out on GMA (ABC network) tomorrow morning. |

I am glad of the gulf stream that warms the UK and gives us mild winters I am roughly level with Calgary latitude wise, yes other places get a lot more snow than here and cope with it, erm you can keep it  Stay warm people. |
| Yep, saw it on the weather channel. Central NY and much of the north east getting slammed with snow. Here on Long Island we have the cold air but snow isn't expected until friday. had some yesterday but just enough to cause chaos on the roads this AM with icing. Personally I am glad to see the cold temps and the snow. These warm winters have created super bad hurricanes in the summer. So, since I am still rebuilding from Sandy, I LOVE seeing temps cold... Stay safe and be careful of the ice! |
| Yeah, Diane, you have heat. Many Sandy victims are still waiting for repairs or $$ to make the repairs. How miserable. Close to 60 tomorrow here  Unfortunately we are to remain dry, dry, dry for next 3 months which means horrible forest and grassland fires. More importantly I've been watching the drain ditch.........our area used to be swamps until drainage ditches were dug in the 1920s. The ditches still carry off groundwater down about 20 feet or so below soil level. The ditches are nearly dry which means the water table is falling..........and we have a shallow well. We need to get back the wet years of the 80's again. |

| One town just to the north of Syracuse (Pulaski) got 32 inches yesterday. That's right, 32 inches in 24 hours. It will be interesting to see the 3 day totals (Sunday-Tuesday) for that area. |

| And I woke up to an unexpected inch! One measly inch...Minnesota is shamed But, at least it covered the bare ground and ice. And hope it lasts, but we are in a wind advisory/wind chill advisory this PM, so it will undoubtably all blow away. It's that super dry glitter snow, so it will be gone in a "poof'. Good news is we warmed up!! We are at 12F - above! Bad news is that this is the high for the day, and the wind chill advisory is saying -25-35 for this evening and tonight.  |
| Here in Illinois we still got nothing. Tomorrow's forecast calls for ONE inch of snow. That will be the first measurable snow of the season. We are still in a drought. I don't want 32 inches, but SOMETHING would be nice. |
| It's almost 9 PM and 68 outside. I think we are supposed to hit 79 tomorrow. It's not right, we should be in the 30s and 40s. Just imagine our summer to come. We had a white Christmas, but we need lots of water just to save the trees. |
