Sunny came over from WI to help groom Bond, and Stephanie's Paislee. We had a great time just being our crazy selves. Friday was a specialty - the NorthStar Herding Group show. Bond unfortunately had to poop (and did ) in the puppy sweeps class, so that was pretty much a wash. Hard to gait around and look pretty when you need to go. But, he was all better for the regular class, and he won the 2 points available by taking WD (Winners Dog), and BOS (best of opposite sex). Paislee got BOW (best of winners), so she got 2 "cross over" points as well...happy day! Here we are Friday, after showing. (Clip in his hair, ready to go back to our grooming area) Also - we were the media queens - our dogs were photgraphed by the biggest MN papers - the Minneapolis Star Tribune, and the St Paul Dispatch/Pioneer Press. We were in their online dog show coverage, plus Paislee made the FRONT PAGE of the St Paul paper Saturday morning. Bond was photographed for the WCCO-TV (St Paul) station as well, and appears online. Saturday! Well, we thought we had done it all the day before.....not! Bond was really rolling..and Sunny was in fine form as well. He looked stunning, and he was so happy in the ring. The judge loved him, and gave him WD, BOS and BOW..and 2 more points! Here he is before ring time Saturday - and his winnings - Also - Sunny and I were approached by the roving film crew from Fox 9 News, and they asked us to do a short interview...well it turned into this crazy, impromptu clip that was quite...interesting!! I'll put the link at the bottom... Sunday! Day 3, and I was wondering how my 14 month old was holding out. Turns out, we have created an attention hogging monster! He was happiest on the grooming table (we were at a main intersection in the grooming area), and he searched out people to lure in. One thing of note - this is a very big spectator show (as you can tell by all the media coverage) - and they announce things over the PA for spectators, and do free guided tours through the entire show site all weekend long. It is very well attended by families and people from around the metro area. Bond had people lined up 2 rows deep at times, and he was thriving on it. When no one was there, he learned to look up and down the aisles...looking for more people! We were laughing at him, as we observed him...out there on his table, hamming it up without me even near him. This was him in lure mode...I swear there must be hundreds of people with this same shot on their phones and cameras.... For winnings, he did the same as Saturday - 2 points, WD, BOW, BOS. The BOB winner each day was a CH bitch that had just come back from Europe to be specialed in the US. We had a super time, winning was of course wonderful, but we had so much fun and so many laughs... Here is our TV video. I will apologize - as I had to DVR it at home (I was already at the show...) and then video it off my TV screen, then upload to youtube. Youtube really distorted the sound, you probably will have to turn your volume up. I hope you are entertained. |

This guy is a HOOT!!! He's got no fears and that makes him GOLD on screen. You guys were having WAY too much fun!!! Congrats on all the wins as well! Vance |
I got such a kick out of the video, all of you were so funny. Love that Bond hunting out his admires....how can you resist that boy? |
Ha ha, what a great interviewer, he has got no pretentiousness about him. It was fun to watch and Bond looks so cute. |
Great fun interview, you are having way too much fun. I'm glad Bond knows he's a star and how to work it. Keep up all the good work Bond. And congratulations to both of you on the wins. |
Huge hugs congrats I know the hard work you have put in for the show , well done |
That was fun to watch. You guys did us proud, you back combed a guy with not so much hair! He was a good sport about it, too. Bond looked amused. |
Congrats on all your wins and points! That video was great of all you guys! Cindy |
Congratulations Dawn and Bond!! The video was great fun, and a good angle to see the reporter having such a good time there. Bond still stole the segment however Imagine my surprise when Marina Jurica appeared for the weather She was our local weather personality for several years!!! |
Congratulations! I sure hope none of the media attention was there when Bond had his business |
Brenda - that is too funny that she was your weather girl. I bet you were very surprised! David - no - they missed his call of nature, thank goodness |
that was great! You and Bond are making one heck of a (comedy) team! So can we expect a repeat performance at any other upcoming shows??? |
Hilarious video. Sunny was way into it. Congratulations to all of you on a successful weekend. |
I am soooo happy you had a great weekend! If we were near each other I have no doubt I would join in with you and enjoy the time at the shows . . . you definitely have FUN!!! Congrats!! |
oh that was so cute. I would have been lined up and taking pictures with everyone else too. They are absolutely stunning! |
Most shows don't have this level of media coverage, so it's unlikely we will have a repeat event. But it sure was a HOOT! Last night at agility class I had one of my friends who I haven't seen in awhile ask for my autograph...lol But, we do always have a good time grooming before shows. And I know all areas of the country aren't like us...which is really too bad. (OK, maybe not, but we like to think so!) But seriously, after I was done showing Chewie, I was really missing doing conformation, and this group fun was one of the big reasons. |
I just posted a new link to the video (in hi-def) that is much easier to watch - It's under general chat, "Beauty school dropouts" |
