Barks like a beagle

Not sure if I mentioned this before, but Langley has two type of barks. One high pitch bark when he wants to play or wants a cookie. Then a bark when he see other dogs from the car or house. Which sounds just like the way a beagle barks. Cracks me up every time. One time he did it at a lady walking her dog and she actually commented how she thought it was a beagle then saw different.

Yeah, they do have different barks. A good upright can tell a lot by how they bark, grumble and other vocalizations. Beagle though, that could be tough to live with.
Nigel barks like a Beagle ALL THE TIME!!! Every night I have to make him come inside for fear he will wake the neighborhood. It is definately not the usual OES bark...I think my guy is a weenie however.
Even though he is deaf, Oscar has the same vocalizations as other dogs. He whines, and gives a high-pitched bark when he wants something....which is fairly frequently.

But he definitely has the pot-casse OES bark when he sees something out of place. LOUD and DEEP, and it leaves my ears ringing. When he barks at deer in the backyard, it can rattle the glass. 8O And it scares the $#!* out of me when I am not expecting it! Oscar is actually a great watchdog. He barks when he sees golfers coming too close to our fence, or when he sees movement through the side windows on the porch (usually FEDX). He is a better watchdog than our first OES.

Laurie and Oscar
Oh dear 8O

As the owner of BOTH 2 sheepies and one beagle, I offer my very sincere sympathy!

I live in fear of Eggbert learning any of Gertrude's vocal habits :twitch:

I understand!!
I can't stand the bark of a beagle...at all. And it's really weird, as I love the other hounds - the bassets and Maggie the coonhound...but a beagle barking just grates on me! :lmt:
Beagles are rough, but to me they aren't as bad as Terriers (Scotties, Westies, Norwich, you name it....). 8O That sharp, high-pitched squeal gets me every time. (Where is a "nails-on-chalkboard" emoticon?)

Laurie and Oscar, Loud and Proud
I rather have his bawoooooooooooo bark than Laika bark which makes my ears ring. She must have the sheepie bark.
I occasionally call Archie a WOOKIE for all the odd noises he comes out with, but when he barks the metalwork around tends to buzz/vibrate to his bark - ceratainly not good right in the lug'oles!
