We are showing in a dog show this weekend. It's a big one...the largest in MN. It's held in downtown St. Paul, in the complex that the MN Wild, Timberwolves play in. As we were grooming - the St Paul Dispatch/Pioneer Press, the Mpls Star Tribune, AND CBS-WCCO TV station all came and talked to us and photographed Bond. The newspaper links - http://www.startribune.com/galleries/185694231.html http://photos.twincities.com/2013/01/04 ... ame%20here (Stephanie and Paislee are in here too) TV link - http://minnesota.cbslocal.com/video/813 ... n-st-paul/ And in addition, Bond won Winners Dog and Best of Opposite, and 2 points towards his CH! Here we are outside the ring after showing. He does have a clippy in his hair... I hope we have as good of luck tomorrow and Sunday |

Congratulations Bond and Dawn!! Great pixs too! |
Congrats. Hope the weekend goes well. The Star tribune photographer got some really good photos of the dogs at the show. I like the four golden retrievers all sat on their grooming table patiently waiting. Well worth looking at the photos. |
Well done everyone (breeder, owner/handler and groomer). Good luck! |
Congratulations! Very nicely done and he looks great. They always have wonderful press coverage of that show - other shows could learn from the community outreach efforts: do they still do tours? - and OES always seem to get a lion's share of the attention. In 2004 I had Bond's grandmother entered in breed and Belle in agility and they even filmed the head of the AKC agility department measuring Mad for her temporary agility height card. They had asked to film a dog being measured and Sharon shuttled some border collie out of the way, grabbed Mad, who was in full show coat, and told them: "this is the dog you want to film". Camera hogs, that's what we have Love that show. Miss it. Good luck the rest of the weekend, and fingers crossed for sneakiesheepie too Have fun! Kristine |
Congratulations Dawn & good luck to all of you the rest of the weekend. I hope everyone comes home "with a piece of the pie"! |
Thank you so much for sharing all the great things that are going on with Bond this weekend. Good luck and did enjoy all the press/tv coverage. |
Congrats to Bond! Great pic - he has a wonderful grey color. Everyone stops and talk when you groom the hairy oes. Have fun to morrow and "break a leg" Bond! |
Good job Team Bond, keep up the good work |
Good luck tomorrow Dawn and Bond!! Such interesting pictures from the shiz tsu(?) with the grooming paper to the girl with the comb. Bond was the star though!!!! |
I think that Bond would make any photographer's job very easy. I don't think that it is possible for that boy to take a bad picture! Congratulations. Uncle Chewie must be very proud that his student has learned so well from the Master! |
Congrats! Great pictures! Good luck for the weekend! Cindy |
More good news today! Bond again got the 2 points. Winners Dog, Best of Winners and Best of Opposite. And yes to Kristine's question - they still give the guided tours. Great fun, and well attended by the visiting public. More media time too! Bond and I, Sunny , Paislee and Stephanie were filmed for a part of the Fox 9 Morning show tomorrow! We were "grooming" the host It should be very entertaining, and available online after it airs tomorrow morning. Today: I'm ready! and winning ribbons - And we still have tomorrow. |
Nice job and congratulations! He looks great. And you're still all camera hogs Happy to hear they still do the guided tours! Bathing dogs so missed your call. If we don't touch base before, good luck tomorrow! Kristine |
Congratulations to you and Bond! He is just gorgeous! |
Well done!!! Can someone post a link to the morning show if possible. I don't even know when morning will be there. If there's a link I might be able to watch it later when I get home from work. |
Yes Mim - once it's online I'll post it. It looks like it's going to be quite fun!! I won't be home until later tomorrow - as I'm stopping at the hospital to visit my little preemie grandson on my way home from the show. And I'm not that skilled with my new phone to do it remotely yet! |
Thanks Dawn. No worries about when I'll keep an eye out for it. And with time differences I probably won't notice. |
How did Sunday go for the lovely boy?? |
He won again. Waiting for Dawn to (hopefully) find the taped piece they did for local news station online - where, to demonstate how you get an OES ready for the ring, they apparently "put up" the newscaster....how they ratted the hair of a someone with what sounds like a buzz cut is what's boggling my mind. Yeah, they apparently cannot be let loose without adult supervision <vbg> Kristine |
If anyone can fluff a buzz cut, Dawn could. I'm sure Bond was there to supervise. So 6 points this weekend for Chew's baby brother? |
SheepieBoss wrote: How did Sunday go for the lovely boy?? Oh, Sunday went GREAT! He got the 2 more points, and as a repeat of Saturday was WD, BOS, BOW. Here is is pre-ring photo from Sunday - complete with little clip to get from table to ringside and be able to see well I look at this and find it hard to believe all this is my 14 month old Baby Bond! Thanks to Sunny for all her great grooming, and thanks to Bond for being a hair growing machine...and I guess to me for keeping him and his hair in top shape He sat there before ring time and just sucked in spectators...sometimes they were in rows 2 deep, all taking pictures and getting kisses from him. I fear we have created a monster.... But I'm happy I have an attention seeking monster - as I would hate it if he disliked this whole show process. Doing a big 3 day show was a wonderful test of what his comfort zone is. The news video - still waiting. I emailed the TV station today. If all else fails, I will video the DVR'd version off my TV! It really was a HOOT! |
Huge congratulations to all the wonderful ribbons Bond, looks lovely and its so nice when they love the showing. Ours hate all the in between bits - so grooming and waiting. But as soon as I say - Show time, work time their whole attitude changes. |
Congratulations to all again! Now that I've read Kristine's description I REALLY want to see the video. |
Mim wrote: Congratulations to all again! Now that I've read Kristine's description I REALLY want to see the video. No reply from the station yet, so I'm going to video my TV set...and then upload it onto youtube today at work. I don't have a High -def TV, so it won't be great quality.... |
Congratulations to Bond. For winning but more importantly for loving on the spectators and being an ambassador for sheepies everywhere. I am starting to see that he will not fill Chewie's shoes, he will make his own place. Another puppy I should have puppynapped when I had the chance... |

LOL - but I'm glad you overlooked nabbing him Yes - I agree - he's making his own place. And rather nicely too |
Also - I got the video uploaded. I will be making a post on that next.....but for those following here, I'll add the link right now! Enjoy our craziness!!! edit - the sound is not great with the transfer from TV to video to Youtube...but you should be able to get the idea! |
huge congrats |
OMG, you two are too much!!! What a great newscaster. Very brave! Kristine |
Loved the video!! You guys were great!! |
You guys cracked me up. I'd be to camera shy to carry it off. Well done and thanks for all the trouble you went to to post. |
