Poor old Archie

He's in the wars again.

A little light on his rear foot on his walk this morning!

End result currently in Vets having his foot operated on under general.

Likely culprit a blackthorn needle again.

Even though I have been very careful where I have been walking him!

Typically Stoic and was making no outward signs of fuss.......

See ya later big fella :wag:

Poor Archie!

Stoopid needles.
I think Poor Archie should ask Santa for some boots for Christmas!!!! :hearts: Feel better soon, big guy! :ghug:
Must have been flushed down by the rain ;) Hope he gets better
That sounds painful - good thing to get rid of. Best wishes, Archie!
He's back home enjoying his early Christmas antler horn to chew on - guarding it growly....

Vet said best we'd had him under, she cleaned out heaps of puss.

Back in on Monday dressing change.

Don't worry on the Christmas front though he has a new giant nylabone for then.

Getting his tablets down him may be fun he is so crafty with them!
Need more pics of him
Poor Archie. I hope you get his tablets down him. Our other old sheepie had a thorn in her back foot and we didnt realise for days! They are very good at hiding things. Summer sends slurpy kisses Archie xx
Yeah, boots might be in order. Haven't had a imbedded object is several years
Ouch! Poor Archie! Good thing you had it looked after promptly.
These guys are so stoic. When I pick up a teeny tiny splinter I won't even walk on it for one step.

Poor guy. Glad Archie is doing better.
He's frustrated by recommended limited walks but seems to be doing fine, had dressing chaned xmas/eve

He's off to vet tomorrow for another inspection maybe a further dressing change.

Tablets are fun - he can magic them back up even 30 minutes later!
Poor Archie! I had to laugh about the pills though! Oscar takes 7 different meds, spread out over four meals, that total 21 pills EVERY DAY!!! I make little canned dog food sandwiches, and he gobbles them down like a treat. Thank God!!!!! :D

Hope Archie is feeling better!

Bandage off - just a sock on in the house until weekend, boot out doors.

Almost lost a finger just now giving him his tablets.

He appears right as rain, very very bouncey, will have to check floor in a while to make sure he hasn't spat out a tablet!
yeah good old Archie, Dont moan about the loss of a finger you got lots! :wag: :wag: :wag: :wag:
Maybe he wanted a treat with his tablet
Are you forcing tablets down? We used to do that until we discovered the wonder of making a pill sandwich with some nice soft squishy bread that gets gulped down. We give the tablet "pocket" while holding a "chaser" piece of bread, so they swallow quickly waiting for that next piece. LOL
When you have a dog that can lick peanut butter off the crushed tablet inside and leave the granules of tablet behind you know you have one sneaky sheepie!

The whole tablets are fine on the whole it is the half tablets he has an issue with almost like once the outer coating is broken through he doesn't like them, anyway he had the last of his course today.

And a walk without socks and boot was much better for him.
