Well we are not in the thick of it. North of us got hit with about a foot. It rained here ALL day. Just before I left work it started with the big heavy splats. Its been snowing since and the wind is making it snow sideways Just looked out the window and yeah...its still snowing. Oh joy...not. |
We live at what some call the southern end of the Midwest. I wore shorts, t-shirt and tennis shoes yesterday. We had 50 mph winds overnight and I had to wear long pants and a jacket today! |
I live in the middle of the target area. Ugh...snow...wind....snow....wind. My husband plowed at the high school for 8 hours yesterday and has been out since 1:30 this morning. Not sure how much we got, but well over a foot. Still advising no one drive on the main roads so they can clear them, but hard to do that with the drifting. Madison has alot of stranded cars on the roads in outlying areas and has power outages in areas, too. We are about 60 miles north of this. About the only good thing with the drifting (good thing?) is that the snow is wet, so it's not drifting much. Angus is having a ball jumping and running in the snow! He buries his face in it to sniff around. He has most of his head stuffed in the snow smelling around. He's not quite sure what to do with all the snow balls on his leg fur though! Want to get some pictures of this, but boy it's cold today especially with the wind chill. We are no doubt having a white Christmas for sure! |
They really talked us up, six inches of snow, snowing all night, bad roads in the morning, wind causing the snow to drift across the road, total chaos!!!! Yeah, I have like a dusting of snow, and it rained more last night than it snowed. I live in Michigan, where is my snow!?! |
Here in the Northern suburbs of Chicago we just got a dusting last night. I was so hoping the horrible rain throughout the day turned to snow. I feel better when it gets super cold and snowing and thes now is much prettier. The dampness of the rain just kills me. |
Yes, our predicted "blizzard" was mainly rain and maybe an inch of snow. The winds are killer though. There is a 3 story Christmas tree in front of the hospital. This morning it was on its side, felled by the winds. Nasty. |
