Bloo has a coat, but his legs and head still get wet, and the rain makes him all knotty and wet He wont go to toilet in the garden, he only toilets in his favourite spots on walks. Do you walk your sheepies in the rain? Am i just being paranoid, should i just go take him out and dry him afterwards? |

Absolutely not.... Yuki thanks me too b/c she hates water and being even a tad wet. I'm glad I have a girl just like me... She holds it and rather go on the sidewalk/porch than get those paws wet. I love her |
If she does get wet, I definitely dry her... but it has more to do with wet dog on my clean carpet AND kids slipping on wet floors. |
Mady doesn't like the rain, but I will walk them in the rain, they need to go. If it's a lot of rain, I try to make it as quick and business like as possible. |
Mine get let out into their fenced dog yard for potties - and they do it rain or shine. My rat terrier hates rain, but everyone else doesn't seem to even care. |
Ziggi hates going out in the rain. When I open the door she sticks her nose out and sees that it is raining and turns around. She will only go potty in the rain when she reallly has to go. |
Rain? What is THAT? |
SheepieBoss wrote: Rain? What is THAT? Yeah we don't get much rain either, if it does we just wait 10 minutes for it to stop. I really feel for you Sam, all that rain makes walking a furry dog so icky! I would do it if I lived where you are though as dogs need their walk times. |
My 2 both hate the rain. When I let them out the garden I have to stand with them and shut the back door, Tilly the yorkie goes just on the edge of the path and Summer tries to fit under a bush! She has seen Tilly do it and doesnt realise she is a tad bigger! |
Foz doesn't like rain, but he needs to go potty. The boys might not go far but enough to do business. Our backyard has become a swamp the past few years when it rains or when snow melts. We just want to do some more exciting things in the house before spending $ on fixing it properly. Foz prefers not to get his feet wet or dirty Street and sidewalk walking is preferred. So much for a backyard. |
I live in western Washington just outside a rainforest. No walking in the cold rain for me. |
Quote: Yeah we don't get much rain either, if it does we just wait 10 minutes for it to stop I hear of all day or all night, or even days and days of rain. Pure fantasy. Like you, 10 minutes is norm. We have 3 "storms" coming between now and New Year's........maybe one will give us moisture.....maybe. Mountains will get snow, but my plants desperately need a drink and I hate watering in 42 degree weather. Cold and dry. |
Oliver likes to have his rain slicker on to go out in the rain. He pottys fast and comes back in. The same with his winter coat. The only difference is he will make several unnecessary trips out just to eat snow. But he LOVES wearing his coat!! Of course, I do have to wipe feet. I hate a slippery tile floor |
SheepieBoss wrote: Cold and dry. We get our moisture in the winter with snow and cold weather. Not horrible wet snow but nice dry snow. Love it over rain. I was in Santa Fe at the end of October or a seminar. It was sooooooooo dry. I thought Calgary was dry but noting like Santa Fe. And the altitude is much higher 8000 feet instead of 3500. I really suffered from dry lips and just feeling uncomfortable from the dryness and altitude but it sure was beautiful around there and the people very friendly. |
http://www.weatheroffice.gc.ca/city/pages/ns-21_metric_e.html Try Nova Scotia we have had rainfall warning for most of this week. Tuesday and Wednesday straight pouring rain didn't let up until today. More to come. They hate the rain. Mostly Laika; princess. Getting boots tomorrow to match their raincoats. I give up. Now I am one of those people that dress their dogs ug! But the are soppy, so my house is soppy. |
True witches melt in the rain...thats me Fenced yard, doggy door. They go when they want. The rain, or in our case snow doesn't bother them. |
Dexter won't venture off the covered patio even if the wind is blowing hard just in case there's any rain. He won't venture off the patio if the sprinklers ran because his feet will get wet. Winston wouldn't notice a monsoon, he's outside and that's all that matters to him! |
No fenced yard, 55 mph road in front of the house, so walkies it is, 365 days a year. Besides, rain, snow, whatever - as soon as Benson finds a stick, she's ready to lay down and enjoy it. |
I don't take mine out, but that's because they just hate the rain so much. I think it's the wet feet, cause they still don't like it if the ground is wet. |
I'm insanely jealous right now! Chowder LOVES the rain. She likes getting wet except at bath time, so while I'm rushing her, she is walking through puddles, turning around, and walking through them again. grrr |
Rain Sun Snow or any kind of weather they are up for it. I might not be but they are but the odd thing is when its raining they don't want to go for a poo or a wee but as soon as I pick up there leads its madness |
this is were a raincoat with legs or/ and boots come into there own , as i write i am making new coats for Lincoln and a Esher . Esher has new pink boots Lincoln's are boring green but they keep them dry |
Bloo needs boots but I haven't a clue how to make them or where to buy them from |
