Now that pictures as associated with the names, makes it worse. Beautiful children....how can anyone not shed tears? I know I have. |
I'm still very sad as well and look to talk about it with my friends when I see them... makes me feel better somehow. |
My heart is broken for all the families, of both the kids and the adults. But especially the kids - they were just babies. It scares the bejeezus out of me. My daughter teaches at a high school in VA, and she said that she's often thought to herself as she walks into her classroom - if anything were to happen, where would we go? Answer - there is no place. I can't even think about it. |
I work at an elementary school. We heard about it late Friday morning. We managed to get through the day without the kids finding out, though a number of parents did decide to pick their children up early. We practice fire drills, tornado drill, evacuation drills and lockdowns multiple times a year. We have limited access to our buildings, with driver's licenses scanned against the police database. We do what we can do, but this brings home how a determned person can still get in. Eighteen months ago, my daughter was based in Stamford/Dansbury and spent a good amount of time seeing patients in Newtown, among other towns. |
My grandson is 6 and seeing the childrens precious faces, what is happening to the world? xx |
