Help Please
I don't normally do this kind of thing, but I am hoping you wonderful people can help make a very special woman's dream come true. We have been up to our usual crazy ways and have been on a mad adventure with an incredible woman, a singer songwriter based on the tiny Isle of Man who, kinda as a result of a very special day we had with her at Abbey Rd Studios last weekend is now on a last minute but very serious mission to get to Christmas No.1. Or thereabouts  You won't know her but Katherine Crowe is a young mum (two kids 7 and 9), and one of life's very best people - vibrant and positive and loving and funny. And she has extremely aggressive terminal breast cancer, which is progressing at a terrifying rate at the moment, meaning this will be the final musical mark she leaves on this world. BUT this isn't a sob story! Despite everything she's going through, she is far from a sorrowful soul  The song she is promoting is a beautiful, goosepimpley, cinematic version of Charlie Chaplin's "Smile", backed by the London Met Orchestra and with an original arrangement written especially for her by Julian Kershaw (orchestrator for Harry Potter, Stardust, Notting Hill etc so there's a filmic link! What I'm saying is it's GOOOOOD. And - we think - genuinely worthy of a kick at the top spot! Also a damn sight more relevant to the festive season than most of the stuff vying for the title. Her hope is to sell enough copies of the song that she will be able to leave a small nest egg for her family, but also donate a decent sum to Cancer Research UK in their quest to find treatments that are less toxic than Chemo and Radiotherapy. Katherine herself was so allergic to these conventional drugs that she had to be resuscitated on 4 separate occasions when they were administered to her, and she can no longer take any more treatment.
