Love! That is all. |
|
I'd say you had one very fine idea!! |
Way to go! |
and has your husband also come around to being totally smitten? |
Convincing him was SO hard, I had sheepies growing up but he had never met a sheepie and was not a dog person. I sent pictures and youtube links to him daily... and spoke of nothing else. He wanted a St. Bernard but had a preference to no dog at all. I don't think I could live in a pet free home for any extended period of time, we ended up with Ru by a twist of fate and he was supposed to be the only dog, and he was for a year. Given how utterly dog dependent Ru is we really had no choice in getting another dog. My brother in law's dog moved out and if I left the two of them alone Ru literally cowered in the corner of the basement shaking and yelping if my husband went within 5 feet of him. Ru avoided Brent in most situations and even escaped from him during a run and sprinted over 6km home to me, getting injured and in the process. Brent is now a big fan of Leonard, having Leonard has also greatly improved his rapport with Ru (because Leonard trusts him now Ru has come around 100% and even picked the company of Brent over me the other day, which is a first). I overheard him telling Leonard that he could easily have "2 sheepies" the other day. He would never admit that he said that... but I heard it!! I also caught him googling sheepie pictures a couple weeks ago. Leonard is just such an easy dog to have around, he has a knack for reading moods and seems to be cuddly when he knows you've had a bad day. I wasn't feeling well today and instead of his usual morning bouncing he sat next to me and put his head in my lap. He is only 7 months old now, what a great, intuitive puppy . How could my husband NOT love him. He lets Leonard be his lap dog... (I don't think he grasps how big this puppy will eventually be). At this very moment Leonard is being Brent's "sheepie moccasin" (not my terminology b.t.w.) and has his head on top of Brent's foot and is having a puppy nap. Brent keeps saying how great his moccasin is.... he doesn't know that I am writing a post about the dramatic turn around in his opinion of our dogs. I took a picture of Leonard sleeping on the reformed dog hater's foot as proof: |
I love it! I had a really bad migraine today. My 2 nurse sheepdogs came over to console me when I ventured out to the living room and onto the loveseat. Bond very gracefully climbed up on top of me (I was laying on my back) and lay down smack on me, with his nose nestled under my chin. Chewie sidled up, perched his butt and rested his paw on my shoulder. He nuzzled my ear with his nose. Aww, they are so sweet! A bit overwhelming, but so loving |
Good job Leonard!!! Tiggy managed the same kind of magic with my husband. He was a dog person but thought maybe we should get a second dalmatian. I made an executive decision while he was overseas for work and he came home to a sheepie puppy. He is smitten. Only down side of the smitten bit is he lets her get away with murder in the behaviour stakes. |
I was the same being honest. Was not too sure & now I will have more & more. They are great fun & they don't keep still for 5 mins |
