| Olivia, The breeder in question is (a) a backyard breeder - i.e. someone who just puts two arbitrary dogs of the same breed together with no real regard for or understanding of the breed - and (b) in Wisconsin. I presume we're talking about the litter being advertised in the Milwaukee JS as well puppyfind etc etc. $1000 (plus an additional $150 if you want a registration with no strings), yet no mention of health testing the parents for genetic diseases common in the breed and who knows what kind of temperaments? You have plenty of good breeders out your way. Better off sticking with them or even rescue if the right dog can be found. And a bombproof adult dog is probably a better bet than a puppy with your brood (OES puppies are incredibly labor intensive and temperaments can vary greatly) Good luck! Kristine |
| Thank you Kristine, and yes a backyard breeder is NOT what we are looking for! I have had so many people tell me that a puppy would be better because he/she would grow up with our boys and then there are those who say DO NOT get a puppy, adopt an older dog...just trying to explore all our avenues! I agree about the puppy being labor intensive, my husband however says he thinks it would be neat to have our new best friend from little |
