clipping trough the world

hi, what trend around the world? Clipped or long hair oes? qin Belgium, for dog shox it natural long hair. Some people adopt oes and clip them directly. This question vecause wlking trough this forum I see both. Peronnaly, I'm doing my best to keep long hair, but it's a hard work. Nevertheless I really love this moment, even sometimes I'm pull out my hair ( translate from french :?: )
I'll clip it if any matter of health, or if it roll about chewing gum.... :twitch:

sorry for typing mistake....I'll be care of that next time....b.....y Ipad...
I don't think it is a country by country trend thing. It's a personal preference.

Some people like them in full coat, some in a medium cut and some in puppy or all the way to the skin.

I prefer Lily to be in full coat but that has only happened once. She has allergies, so she has to be shaved down for her own health.
I like a full coat because they look like teddy bears. But a full coat that is not groomed looks horrible and uncomfortable for the dog.
I like grooming as it is a time to be close to Monty. We do not have the dogs on the sofa or bed (no space for us :D ) so need the close time with grooming.
Since my dogs lived in the forests or here in rural areas, keeping them in long coat was impossible. Every stick, weed or other object would get into their coat. Water and mud was especially difficult. I quickly adopted the shorter hair preference. Winter was the time for long hair.
I have hand cut Archie down once, but actually found the shorter coat harder to groom, I do prefer the shaggy mop look too!

To do the long coat any favours you ideally should keep on top of it daily even if it's just a little each day.
I keep both my boys in a shorter cut. One is I'm lazy :) and don't keep up with the grooming. Two is I've got two dogs and it takes alot of time to groom...which I don't have. Why would I get not one but two sheepdogs you may ask. The nature of this breed keeps me laughing. They are big goofballs and they don't need long hair to be this way.

I guess it helps that I like a sheepdog in a puppy cut too. :)
right when you live in forest, it just take home a sample of everything that nature provide!
I'mNot suprise that a clipped oes is more difficult to brush. I shave Keesi's belly, and it's the place with more mat. And sometimes when I'm fighting With the coat, I've a beady eye on the clipper....:)
At the moment, mine are one of each!

Bond on the left is 13 months, and being shown. Chewie on the right is 6 yrs, a Ch, and he does dog sledding (amongst many other sports) in the winter....hence the short, working coat.
beautiful coat! If she sledding I understand lol
