We decided we would have a team Thanksgiving lunch with him as he doesn't have family here and we don't celebrate Thanksgiving here. A list of Thanksgiving food was drawn up and we all nominated to bring something. Then the big question, when is Thanksgiving? I nearly fainted when I logged on here and saw the post wishing a Happy Thanksgiving, I thought I must have got the day wrong and I hadn't got my contribution sorted yet!! I went to work all ready to apologise and looked up the email confirming who was bringing what and the date. Nope I didn't get it wrong. My team mate has been away from home too long he thought Thanksgiving was the last Thursday in November. He got a shock too when he checked his email and had messages from his family. He thought he might get away with it if a bunch of Aussies didn't know any better never found out but you guys dobbed him in to me. So I engaged in a traditional Aussie pastime and 'hung some s*#t on him' when he got to work. So Happy Thanksgiving for next week y'all. Even funnier one of the other girls tried to tell him that he had the date wrong and he wouldn't believe her. She is a bit of a prankster but was telling the truth on this occasion. |

Hope the event is still on! We had our big meal a week before the actual date....so it is floating a bit this year. |
So you won't have to guess next year, Thanksgiving is the 4th Thursday in November... |
