Bricky's been a little loose the past day or so and I'm wondering if it's from the supplement or maybe it's from the medicine they gave him to knock him out or the medicine they gave him to wake him up. Or maybe the stress of the whole ordeal. If it's from the supplement, what should I do to stop the loose stools? Or do I wait a few days to see if it resolves itself? |

I'd bet on the stress and meds. Never hand a problem with glucosamine/chondroitin for dogs or us. Any emotional disturbance and some meds and they get loose. If you are giving him pills, is the pill wrapper causing problems.......cheese, peanutbutter? Cut back on treats. Just plain food and lots of love to get him back into his routine. MO's problem last week resolved itself.....I think it was the turkey giblets. She is back to her usual bombing mission over the driveway. |
I would guess 1st that it's the whole experience - and mostly the getting left at the vet part. I can pretty much guarantee that would do it for most of my dogs... |
Aw hope he feels better soon. |
I know the Glyco-Flex we give for joints says to give twice a day as tolerated and with food. So maybe the meds are contributing to the loose poop. Maybe start with a lower does and give with a meal? |
I do give with his food. I just drop the 2 tablets in his dinner. |
I drop mine right on top of these guys' dog food too - they eat it right up. No diarrhea from it here - and I switch brands of the supplements too. |
His poops looked a bit better today. But I've yet to clean the yard up today, so I don't know what they look like up close. |
