New here, couple questions

Hi. I have a 9 week old OES/Bernese pup. She has been with us 2 weeks now and things are generally going well. She's a very smart and sweet girl. The main challenge I am having are jumping/nipping my 3 year old. I work with her often on bite inhibition and she seems to be getting it but when she see's my little guy she goes crazy. Any tips? Also, I've tried to brush her a couple times and she gets REALLY aggressive with me. I know that brushing is going to be a frequent event and Im worried that she might really hurt me when she's older.
That's it for now. Really glad to find this forum. Hope it's ok to be here even if she is only half sheepie. At the moment she looks like she took most of the sheepdog physical attributes.
Thanks in advance!

re the brushing issue - try making it the most fun of the day - things that have worked for me in the past include starting with 30 second sessions - keep it short and simple and FUN - mix it up with petting and praising and treats interspersed with bits of brushing. Very slowly build up the duration of the grooming session by very small increments. Start just using the "wrong" side of the brush so there is absolutely no pulling or discomfort possible - you are using the smooth back of the brush to just stroke the puppy - try the sessions when the puppy is a bit tired or sleepy - maybe after a meal and potty time are finished or after a bout of play time is over - less possibility for puppy energy to be over the top and/ or combative with the grooming session
just some random thoughts
You are right grooming will be part of the puppy's life. Best to get it a pleasant experience for all.

Welcome. Yes the above is best advice, when tired brushing very gently whils "whispering sweet nothings" worked very well and holding a chew toy/nylabone etc in one hand and brushing with the other hand helped if Sprox wanted to get a bit rough-he played,I brushed.x
Thanks for the great suggestions! I know I can't lose the brushing battle and plan on implementing those ideas, especially holding the brush backwards (never would have thought of that!). I'm looking for a very special treat that will only come out for brushing sessions. So far, the only treat she seems to be motivated by is freeze dried liver.
When you get a chance, we'd love to see pixs of an interesting cross. Temperment ought to be quite lovely, just can't picture the physical dog.

Yes, please! Has to be a very beautiful dog!
Ok. So I just uploaded a pic of Lila. I'm not quite sure where it went though
Here mom is an OES, dad is a Bernese Mt. dog. I don't see the Bernese too much now but who knows maybe as she matures. The pic is of her in her bed by a window..
