Paulikor, (we were about 40 singers ) (Lovely almost summer there, when it was already winter and cold snow in Oslo.) Saturday we were singing in a nordic concert in St. Elisabth's church together with choirs from Denmark and Sweeden. Our main concert was on Sunday together with 5 other choirs; 4 from choirs from Scandinavia and one choir from Hungary in ST. Margits church. We were more than 300 singers all in all singing Mozarts Requiem: The church were filled up with people, they were standing in the gangway and everywhere. WOW - so loud and so much sound. The Hungarian TV where there too. One of the altos filmed the happening for a short time with her phone: http://photos.oes.org/albums/userpics/1 ... rimosa.mov We had some lovely days in Budapest, lots of fun, lovely meals and an interesting place; Some pics here, sorry the text is in norwegian: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/pho ... =3&theater |

Isn't it Buda on one side of the river and Pest on the other? I find that fascinating. |

Yes, there were 2 separate cities until the late 19th century when they were amalgamated into one. At the time, Buda was the smaller and wealthier side, that had the royal palace and wealthy residential neighbourhoods. Pest was bigger and had much more commercial side. I believe the Buda side were unhappy with the amalgamation at the time. |
