We went to puppy play time, and he's been testing his dominance with other dogs. He LOVES to put his paws on their backs, and he has been bad about nipping...so he is getting alot of time outs from the staff watching the group. They assured me he's being okay all of the group have done this, but they won't let him push it too far. So all is fine, he is having fun, and in walks this HUGE Alaskan Malamute, approx 1 yr still clumsy like a pup. Probably over 100lbs, and all Tag did was look at him and then hid under my chair, his eyes as big as saucers. He was so subdued after that, he came out to play again but quietly. We all had a good laugh, then Tag got comfortable and tried to play again, got a bit rough and the Mal came over to stop him...we then started calling him the Enforcer. He stopped all bad dog behaviour, using his body to push the others around, but then he got to close to this Pug...whatever happend the Pug literally tore a strip off him, and the Mal took off tucked tail. The Pug proudly pranced, I am sure saying size ??? who says size matters! |

That's very typical of little dogs. My Toy Poodle attacks my German Shepherd all the time. It is so funny to watch.
Thanks for the laugh Elissa |
Hee hee. Clyde had the same experience with our trainer's giant adult Mastiff when he was in puppy class. She brought him in to show us how well trained he was. Clyde was running around humping all the other dogs and then the Mastiff walked up to sniff him. Clyde just dropped onto his butt and shriveled down in front of the big dog. No sign of dominant behavior there-- he knew he wasn't! |
Haaaaaaaaaa oh too funny!! I read this post and just reread it..what? I didn't respond before...ahhh now I remember I probably spit my coffee all over the computer at the time! |
Tooo funny!!!!
Ty had his first obedience class on Wed (and his first exposure to any other dog but Tasker). I expected him to behave the way he does at home, the 3lb alpha lords it over the 97 lb sheepie. Imagine my surprise when Ty, totally intimidated, spent most of the play time standing between my feet, looking up at me as if to say "SAVE ME"!!!!! |
