Then he started slowing down. Still doing them but slow. Trainer said he was unsure. The last week of the summer class he popped out after ten poles....hmmm. Gave him a rest, thinking that he was getting tired of me putting him through at the start and trying to get him to do all twelve. We started the fall class and its worse. Pops out after just a few poles. Try it again and its the same. I'm not pushing it...yet. I'm just not sure what to do. We really need to work in the back yard but it gets dark so dang early....but I think I'm/we're going to be working in the dark |

I went back to pulling them just a little apart (channels) and really upped the energy & excitement from me and praise/treats. It helped to get the mind and body of a certain sheepdog back in the mood to weave I was so happy when we showed last month in our local show - 10 classes in 3 days - that while we had other random issues, he hit all 10 sets of weaves smack on and did all 10 sets nicely. Granted some of them could have been faster, but 100% accuracy was worth it in my book!! |
