Nope.....no swimming in the sea - only walking: Interesting place, and very salt...... It was too cold for me that day.....this summer was more like a green long rainy winter in Norway. This was the perfect beach for Joy, who loves to walk around in the sea. Just walking......and she loves it. "Why don't you swim Joy?" I thought at least she might swim when I started swimming........ No, only walking in the sea........and she didn't allow me to swim either! Well, we will try it again next summer.....maybe first in the freshwater.... ......it might be something overwhelming and frightening about th ocean? |

Lovely pics of Joy in the sea. |
sweet i just love your pics |
Thanks. I wonder : Is it normal for our breed that they don't like to swim in the sea |
I have NO sea anywhere near me, so I can't answer. I do know my guys like big lakes though! (more than pools too) Here is Chewie, just passing by..... Swimming or walking, Joy in the ocean is just BEAUTIFUL!! |
Beautiful! Cindy |
Chewie loves swimming in the freshwater, He's so cool! So did my first oes-bitch.....here swimming with me in the moutains: She loved swimming in freshwater, never did that in the ocean. Maurice, my second oes, he loved to go into the sea and stay in the waves, I never saw him swimming in the sea. I wonder if it could be the coat that makes it uncomfortable to swim in the waves |
Gorgeous pictures. Most of mind don't swim either, just wade. Chewie's mother is the exception. To celebrate her finishing her breed championship I took her to a beach on Lake Michigan (no oceans around here) along with my then agility instructor and her golden and two border collies. It was a cold, windy fall day, with waves whipping onto the beach. Even the border collies weren't doing more than wading on the edge when Mad set out looking for all the world like she intended to swim to the middle of the lake. For a short time I thought I was going to have to go in after her to turn her around. Brrrr! Fortunately she opted to return to shore of her own volition. Sea looks lovely. Making me a bit homesick. Joy is joy. |

Kristine Wow....I'm glad she returned. I don't like it when dogs or people swim far away from the shore in cold water. Baba: This smily is so cool! Where did you find it |
Joy is so calm and at home in the water. Your pictures are so soothing. Charm likes the ocean, she jumped the waves in porpoise like leaps along the shore. But did not go swimming in the ocean. She does love to swim in the lake though. I miss summer |
Looks fun! My sheepie likes to swim in the big lake but only if somebody goes in with him, he's never seen the sea. |
My FAVORITE: Dogs in the water!!! Great pictures, Grete... thank you for sharing them with us! (You too, Dawn ) |
Ron wrote: My FAVORITE: Dogs in the water!!! Ok, one more then: My first oes, Aurora used to wade around and drible snail shells, she was far away in her own world and could go on dribling for an hour or more. Then when she finaly got up from the water she looked like this. |
The sea is so calm there - it looks like a very large lake. Such lovely pictures. Your photos make me want to come for a visit. |

Still the total beach babe is joy What a beautifull area. Joy needs to visit here, warm climate and spunky life savers patrolling the white sandy beaches. In speedos too Syd tip toes over a wet ground after rain and needs pushing outside to go potty, I cant imagine him over there in snow etc. Oooh wet icky ground is my NOT my all weather boy Beaches well another story we'll see what happens there with whimpy man I can see YUCK MA, all sandy, bad enough when he experienced snow for the first time, booties on and lifting him out of the car for him to jump back in. The girls loved it, they were like "Bull Dozers" through that white stuff, I guess I have a snag on my hands with Syd, (Sensitive New Age Guy ) |

Your Syd is so special...... Joy loves the snow and she also loves the wet mud .....shouldn't it be the other way around? After all Joy is a girl....lady, not much ladylike. |
I love the wet dog pictures, especially the one of Aurora, she must have been fun to watch No sea near us. Monty learnt to swin in a mountain lake this July. He is so confident and doesn't need much coaxing. |
Grete when are you & Joy going to vist the UK. |
