I just heard from the ex. They are moving again and they're having difficulties finding temporary housing that will accept dogs. She doesn't know what to do. I told her I'd post on the board asking our members if someone could help. She's looking for someone who could watch/care for Zeke temporarily until they find permanent dog-friendly housing. Can anybody here help Zeke out? He's a sweetheart of an OES and gets along extremely well with other dogs & kids. Heck, alot of you know that as you've met him several times. And of course they would pay for all food & care. I would take him in a second but my living arrangement just will not allow another dog in the house. They're moving to the Harrisburg, PA area. Again, this would only be a temporary situation. They would pay for all his food & care (I'd be willing to help out, too, as I want to make sure Zeke has a great life). Can anyone here help? It would mean a LOT to me if someone could. You can either PM me or e-mail me at camval1@hotmail.com . Thanks. |

I hope someone can help! Any idea what "temporary" means? (How long) |
I asked that question about 2 months ago but she couldn't answer it back then. I'm guessing she still can't. If it were me, I would try to make the time period as short as possible. A few weeks to a month? Maybe a little longer? Not terribly long. |
That really sucks ...terrible situation to be in. I hope someone can help her/you ...........and Zeke! |
Length of time would equal only a few weeks. |
Where are they coming from? How far will they travel? |
They are coming from Columbus, Ohio and going to the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania area. About 369 miles. |
and paws crossed that someone can help Zeke- I do have a friend in Pennsylvania and will make a call- |
I thought you lived with family? Why can't he stay with you a couple weeks? Just puzzled.... |
Dawn, Let me put it this way, I'm lucky I even have Brick. He's really not welcomed here and another dog, even if just for a few weeks, is just not going to happen. Not my call unfortunately. Karen, Thank you! |

mark, ya ready ? shellie lol, i had to look it up. |
Hey! I just saw this post. So sorry I didn't catch it quicker. I would love to help, but we are in the process of losing our Tucker. His days are few and I just can't commit to anything else right now. It is really hard for me to say no, especially when I know you really need help but Tucker is my number one priority. Even MY Zeke is playing second fiddle right now and that too is killing me. I am SO sorry, I just can't. Can you imagine two Zekes in my house?! I so wish I could do this. Honestly I never thought Tucker would be here beyond Labor day, but here he still is. Every day he's here and still not in pain, I am thankful. I just have to see this through. Again I am so so sorry I can't help. Shellie |
Shellie, Thanks for responding. I appreciate it. Sorry to hear about Tucker. Do you of anyone else in the area that would be willing to temporarily foster Zeke for a few weeks? |
I am not in touch with anyone with OES in my area at all anymore. I can ask around, but my circle is quite small. I'll pm you Shellie |
Mark--my friend is out of town--but received my message and texted that she would call me Monday when she returned home. |
Thanks to all. |
