I have been feeding my puppy Taste of the Wild since I got him (it was recommended by the breeder). But as some of you might know there was a massive recall on it a couple of months ago. It has always been good to my puppy, always eats it all up and doesn't upset his stomach. However, due to that recall, a lot of the stores around us have stopped carrying the brand. So I've decided to make the switch to a different brand of no-grain food. Does anyone out there have any suggestions for a comparable brand to Taste of the wild. Cheers, Sebas |

We used to feed Taste of the Wild and it worked well for my Miley (she has many food allergies) but it was not always in stock at our pet shop so we switched to Natural Balance Limited Ingredient. However - Earthborn Holistic brands seem fairly comparable to Taste of the Wild - I used them for a bit as well. Good Luck |
We use Eukanuba large breed puppy... It is pretty great on their tummies and was recommended by our breeder. Leonard is doing very well on it and our vet says it is a perfect food for steady growth and healthy digestion. |
Fromm's has a grain-free variety, maybe try that? Eevee loves her Fromm's! |
Trophy, salmon and rice-got all the joint "bits" in for growing pups and adults of the larger breeds like our sheepies.x |
As a puppy we fed Bailee Innova and when he grew we also fed him the TOTW Bison (which was the one recalled.) Actually the "outbreak" did not effect any dogs only humans who handled the food. none the less we swithched him from TOTW to Adult Innova since he thrived on it when a puppy. Sad tosay he had 2 bouts of very loose stools. After a Vet trip he is doing fine BUT, we have switched him back to TOTH, this time with Lamb not Bison. He is eating like a horse again and I plan to stay with it. The only type that was recalled was the Bison based one, see if you can fine either the Salmon or Lamb flavors. The stores here in South Jersey still handle all the varieties. |
I think Wellness is awesome ...and has a little something for everyone. I plan on feeding our next dog that ...it's the closest Yuki who has severe allergies has come to being "tolerable." There are so many brands nowadays that are in major pet stores are good that I really don't think you can go wrong. If they're not getting sick from it, having too much gas, runny poos, and are able to eat w/o having to add a filler or something enticing ...then I now consider it a winner. jmo |
