I got the DAP and put it on their special collars, eventually they all settled and went to sleep. Long summer(s). |

Poor boy...lol.... I can picture a big oes in a little shower.... lol.....
Neither of my girls are afraid of storms, but I think they must sense that I love them. I wish we would get a good storm now actually.... our weather has been hotter than I remember for this area, and humid.... which means headaches and asthma for me. |
In my old house, the shower was the first place Lucy went during storms if I wasn't home. She get so scared she'd shake like crazy so I'd make a bed for us in my walk in closet, pull a fan in to add some white noise and we'd sleep in there together. As she's gotten older, she's calmed down a lot. We had a storm the other night and she came upstairs (which is rare) during the night. When I woke up Clyde was on one side of the gate and Lucy was on the other, lying back to back, like they were comforting each other. It was so cute! |
I don't have walk in closets, but I will have to clear off the floor of one. I surely don't want him near plumbing in case of a lightning strike.

Luke , Rosco and Daisy love storms. They lay in front of the doorwall and watch the lightening. Beau is the big chicken, he gets scared and tries to make himself small . Flash used to try to get under the bed |
Sheepieboss, What is a DAP? |
My Aunt & her dog many years ago Sandy a Wolf Mix used to fight each other for the closet to hide in during T-Storms...lol |
Poor babies! And poor Mommies too! My previous dog, Pumpkin, was always afraid of storms, too. I spent a lot of time holding her (a lab/doberman mix) in my lap during storms. |
If anything, I think my smaller dog makes our OES nervous. hahaha
She doesn't seem to be "scared" but for funsies... our maltese BARKS whenever she hears lightning. Then spins in circles. This makes our OES look up and give that "what's going on out there" look. |
