I use it on both dogs. Winston gobbles it without issue. Dexter has to have his broken and hidden in gobs of peanut butter the throws up about an hour later every other time he gets it. The vet said if they have it in their stomach 30 minutes to an hour it does the job. I have never seen a flea on either dog and found a dead tick on Dex about 2 months ago. |
We havbe tried it 2 times with Carley and she threw up both times. She goes to the vet this month and we will discuss other options. Bonnie/Carley's Mom |
We use it on all our dogs. No problems. I only use it in the summer months... why give them extra chemicals when not needed... |
i use it on José & so far, no problems. |
I use it with Beau and Eli, but it makes Madi throw up. Oddly, she can take both medicines separately and it does not bother her. So, she gets two pills and the boys get one. But, it works great. No fleas in one of the worst flea summers we've had in recent memory. |
Tammy, what do you mean she takes the two medicines at once? Is the Trifexis a two part pill? |
Well, yes, it is Trifexis® (spinosad + milbemycin oxime) |
Yes, Diane - it is a combination of two medicines - a HW preventative and a flea preventative. Spinosad is the medicine that is in Comfortis (trade name) to kill fleas. I really like it as it is fast acting as well as long acting. Milbemycin oxime is the medicine that is in Interceptor (and probably other HW pills - Sentinel, I think). So, while both my boys take Trifexis, Madi gets Interceptor and Comfortis. Same meds but in two pills. |
